Washed cell suspensions of Clostridium sphenoides degraded the alpha-isomer of 1,2,3,4,5,6-hexachlorocyclohexane via delta-3,4,5,6-tetrachloro-1-cyclohexene and the gamma-isomer via gamma-3,4,5,6-tetrachloro-1-cyclohexene.
