In this paper, we give solutions for the two conjectures on the inverse problem of the Wiener index of peptoids proposed by Goldman et al. We give the first conjecture a positive proof and the second conjecture a negative answer.
The Wiener index of a connected graph is the sum of all pairwise distances of vertices of the graph. In this paper, we consider the Wiener indices of trees with perfect matchings, characterizing the eight trees with smallest Wiener indices among all trees of order 2 ( 11) m m with perfect matchings.
The Wiener index of a graph is defined as the sum of distances between all pairs of vertices in a connected graph. Wiener index correlates well with many physio chemical properties of organic compounds and as such has been well studied over the last quarter of a century. In this paper we prove some general results on Wiener Index for graphs using degree sequence.
The eccentricity of a vertex $v$ is the maximum distance between $v$ and anyother vertex. A vertex with maximum eccentricity is called a peripheral vertex. The peripheral Wiener index $ PW(G)$ of a graph $G$ is defined as the sum ofthe distances between all pairs of peripheral vertices of $G.$ In this paper, weinitiate the study of the peripheral Wiener index and we investigate its basicproperti...
The Wiener number of a graph G is defined as 1 2 ∑ d(u, v), where u, v ∈ V (G), and d is the distance function on G. The Wiener number has important applications in chemistry. We determine the Wiener number of an important family of graphs, namely, the Kneser graphs.
anomaly detection (ad) has recently become an important application of target detection in hyperspectral images. the reed-xialoi (rx) is the most widely used ad algorithm that suffers from “small sample size” problem. the best solution for this problem is to use dimensionality reduction (dr) techniques as a pre-processing step for rx detector. using this method not only improves the detection p...
The Wiener number of a graph G is defined as 1 2 ∑ u,v∈V (G) d(u, v), d the distance function on G. The Wiener number has important applications in chemistry. We determine a formula for the Wiener number of an important graph family, namely, the Mycielskians μ(G) of graphs G. Using this, we show that for k ≥ 1, W (μ(S n)) ≤ W (μ(T k n )) ≤ W (μ(P k n )), where Sn, Tn and Pn denote a star, a gen...
This paper investigates connections between (nonblind) Wiener receivers and blind receivers designed by minimizing the constant modulus (CM) cost. Applicable to both T-spaced and fractionally spaced FIR equalization, the main results include 1) a test for the existence of CM local minima near Wiener receivers; 2) an analytical description of CM receivers in the neighborhood of Wiener receivers;...
The Wiener index is a graphical invariant that has found extensive application in chemistry. We define a generating function, which we call the Wiener polynomial, whose derivative is a q-analog of the Wiener index. We study some of the elementary properties of this polynomial and compute it for some common graphs. We then find a formula for the Wiener polynomial of a dendrimer, a certain highly...
We report on the life and work of F. Wiener, whom we confused with N. Wiener in a previous article.
