We report 13 successful emergency embolisations for 12 pseudoaneurysms performed in 10 patients. For five pseudoaneurysms the embolisation technique was modified according to number of supplying vessels, flow rate of pseudoaneurysms, vascular anatomy and whether there was clinical evidence of re-bleeding or not. Apart from traditional embolisation technique, modified embolisation techniques are...
New endoscopic and endovascular therapies have revolutionised the management of complex traumatic visceral aneurysms. A pseudoaneurysm of the gastroduodenal artery following penetrating abdominal trauma was successfully managed by selective angiographic embolisation.
A case of partial splenic embolisation (PSE) that was performed in a girl with severe leucothrombocytopenia due to hypersplenism is described. Treatment with PSE is a safe and effective alternative to splenectomy that prevents clinical complications due to haematological disorders and improves hypersplenism before liver transplantation.
Advanced computational techniques offer a new array of capabilities in the healthcare provision for cerebral aneurysms. In this paper information is provided on specific simulation methodologies that address some of the unanswered questions about intracranial aneurysm and their treatment. These include the evaluation of rupture risk, the thrombogenic characteristics of specific lesions and the ...
We present a case of a 2 year old apparently healthy child who presented with fever and mass on the mitral valve. Excision histopathology of the mass revealed mucormycosis. After 4 months, she had CNS embolisation with recurrence of cardiac lesion when investigations revealed associated T-cell immunodeficiency.

Embolotherapy is defined as the percutaneous endovascular application of one or more of a variety of agents or materials to accomplish vascular occlusion. Embolotherapy has evolved since its clinical introduction to include a wide variety of applications ...
Technical aspects and anatomical difficulties involved in the management of this entity and the risks associated give giant aneurysms a special place in the treatment of aneurysms as a whole. The direct attack needs careful planning and the right choice of instruments, especially clips. In spite of the progress in recent years, the rate of mortality is still very high. The indirect approach req...
PURPOSE Orchalgia is a common problem with varicoceles however the association between varicocele embolisation for the treatment of varicocele related pain has not been widely investigated. We aim to investigate the effectiveness of varicocele embolisation for the treatment of orchalgia secondary to varicoceles; and to see if pre-embolisation pain scores can be used to predict treatment outcome...
