This paper provides an updated overview, based on nomenclatural, taxonomical and distribution data published in 2021, the native alien vascular flora of Italy. The details occurrence at national regional level lists taxa occurring Italy described 2021 are provided.
Here, we report the draft genome sequence of the only species of the genus Lysinimicrobium, Lysinimicrobium mangrovi NBRC 105856(T), isolated from the rhizosphere of a mangrove. The first genomic sequence of this genus and species presented here will facilitate taxonomical, ecological, and functional studies of this rare actinobacterial group.
Phasmatocoris catarinae sp. nov. and P. galvaoi sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae: Emesinae: Emesini) are described from Brazil based on female and male specimens. The male of Phasmatocoris borgmeieri (Wygodzinsky, 1945) is described and short taxonomical notes on this species and P. xavieri Gil-Santana et al., 2007 are provided.
The esat-6 and cfp-10 genes are essential for virulence in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Among nontuberculous mycobacteria, we found these genes only in M. kansasii, M. szulgai, M. marinum, and M. riyadhense, with unique sequences. This adds a phylogenetic and taxonomical characteristic and may represent a virulence factor for nontuberculous mycobacteria.
-1. The phosphoglycerate kinase electrophoretic banding patterns of several Drosophila species were studied. 2. Three banding types were noted: A type with a slowly migrating band of activity, a type with a faster migrating band of activity, and a type with an intermediate migrating band. 3. These banding types appeared to be species specific and may be useful in evolutionary or taxonomical stu...
Although Physalia physalis (Linnaeus, 1758) is widely known from the Brazilian waters, specimens from this coast were never properly described. We describe Brazilian specimens of P. physalis including information on morphology, cnidome, SEM, and histological studies. Taxonomical issues concerning the development of the colonies and eventual synonymy with Physalia utriculus (La Martinière, 1787)...
The paper contrasts a list-based approach to interface design with a structured, analytical, taxonomic approach. The taxonomy employed categorizes behaviour in ‘orthogonal’ terms: manipulation, selection, symbol mediation. It is argued that the taxonomical approach permits more coherent design responses to the needs of special users.
