Abstract— The objective of this paper is to investigate the use of observers in the sensorless control of induction motor drives. First, three recently proposed rotor flux and speed observers for induction motors are analyzed and compared using a unified notation. Unresolved issues for each method are noted. Then, an alternative rotor flux and speed observer architecture is described, which is ...
In this study, it is aimed to design a speed sensorless DTC system for induction motors (IMs). All the states required for DTC system in addition to the load torque are estimated using an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). Simulation results demonstrate a good performance and robustness.
This paper deals with the flux estimation for sensorless induction motor drives. Stable zerospeed operation is achieved by using a speed-adaptive full-order flux observer and a simple software compensation of inverter nonlinearities. No voltage feedback is needed for the compensation and hardware costs can be lowered. Experimental results including stable zerospeed operation are shown.
Abstract: Recently, Vernier permanent magnet (VPM) machines, one special case of magnetic flux-modulated (MFM) machines, benefiting from their compact, simple construction and low-speed/ high-torque characteristics, have been receiving increasing interest. In this paper, the Vernier structure is integrated with an axial-flux PM machine to obtain the magnetic gear effect and produce an improved ...
What I cannot create, I do not understand. Abstract T he auto-commutated permanent magnet synchronous motors, or brushless DC motors (BLDC), are more and more used in many different industrial low power (< 1 kW) applications. BLDC motors have the phase coils on the stator and the permanent magnet(s) on the rotor. Besides many advantages provided by this configuration , a drawback is that the po...
In a sensorless motor speed control system, the is not directly measured using sensor, but it estimated an observer. The systems are mostly applied to AC motors, while they have been widely DC motors. Therefore, this paper presents simple observers estimate speed. used were based on electric equation. Two methods in research. first method was observer estimating resistance inductance values (L-...
In the paper by Vaclavek et al. (IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron., vol. 60, no. 8, pp. 3047-3059, Aug. 2013), the local observability of both induction machine and permanent magnet synchronous machine under motion sensorless operation is studied. In this letter, the “slowly varying” speed assumption is discussed, and the permanent magnet synchronous machine observability condition at standstill is re...
In this paper, the classical Direct Torque Control (DTC) of Induction Motor (IM) using an open loop pure integration suffers from the well-known problems of integration especially in the low speed operation range is detailed. To tackle this problem, the IM variables and parameters estimation is performed using a recursive non-linear observer known as EKF. This observer is used to estimate the s...
Adaptive observers used in sensorless control of induction motors suffer from instability especally in regenerating mode. In this paper, an optimal feed back gain design is proposed, it can reduce the instability region in the torque speed plane . Keywords—Induction motor drive, adaptive observer, regenerating mode, stabilizing design.
