The purpose of this note is to posit and discuss the concept of "competitive inhibition potential" (CIP), which is an in vivo index of the ability of a competitive inhibitor to elevate plasma concentrations of drug substrates, when the competitive inhibitor is administered at its usual and customary dose.

this study investigates the optimization of gold dissolution from aghdarre ore. therefore, a laboratory investigation was initiated, to improve the leaching conditions with the objective of maximizing mill capacity with no reduction on gold recovery. it was observed that the time reduction from 25 to 15 hours did not change the gold recovery. in the other words, it indicated that a capacity of ...

Ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors, including granulose cell tumors (GCTs), are a group of neoplasms that occur rarely, especially in children. Only 0.1 percent of all ovarian tumors and 4-5 percent of GCTs occur in children. The most common presentation of these tumors in children is precocious puberty. We report a 6 years old girl with isosexual precocity, presented as premature thelarche and va...

The Asian financial crisis quickly led to marked contractions in gross domestic product (GDP) and employment in the affected economies. GDP shrinkages in 1998 ranged from nearly 14 percent in Indonesia to 0.5 percent in the Philippines. In turn, these have resulted in adverse social consequences. Although there are signs that the worst of the financial crisis is over and the crisis economies ar...

Quantitative scaling into percent signal change is helpful to detect and eliminate “bad” results with abnormal extreme values. While cognitive effects give signal changes on the order of 1% (and larger in the visual and auditory cortices), signal variations of over 10% may arise from motion and other artifacts in the data. Thus, a quantitative check on measured effect size can be used to screen...

We develop a solid understanding of the termperature-dependent solubility of sodium p-type PbTe, the most efficient thermoelectric material. The maximum solubility of socium telluride (NaTe) in PbTe is measured to be 1.4+0.3 at percent and the heat of solution is evaluated and that addresses fundamental issues regarding the formation of nano-precipitates.

 An order-of magnitude estimate of life-cycle GHG reductions across potential municipal solid waste management scenarios shows that achievable reductions are on the order of current annual emissions from the conventional waste sector quantified in OECD countries’ GHG inventories. In other words, in most countries, at least 4 percent of current annual GHG emissions could be mitigated if waste m...
