A convenient and gentle procedure was used for in vitro radioisotopic labeling the proteins of Newcastle disease virus. This method, which utilizes [14C]formaldehyde and sodium borohydride, labels all the proteins of purified Newcastle disease virus. Virions labeled in this manner retained biological and biopysical integrity

In this study we evaluated two different 99mTc-labeling techniques to produce 99mTc-low density lipoprotein (99mTc-LDL) suitable for the scintigraphic delineation of experimental atherosclerotic lesions. The two methods are 1) a procedure that uses stannous chloride and sodium borohydride (borohydride method) and 2) a procedure that uses sodium dithionite as a reducing agent and that has been s...

The rearrangement reaction of thebaine (1) with methanesulfonic acid, in the presence of hydrogen sulfide, resulted in a sulfide-type bisaporphine 13, instead of the expected thiol 12. The acidic hydrolysis of the thiocyanato derivatives 3, 9, 20 and 21, obtained from thebaine (1), as well as the reduction of 9 and 21 with sodium borohydride yielded disulfide-type bisaporphines 16 and 23.

An improved procedure for determination of composition of heteropolysaccharides by radiochromatography of sodium [3H]borohydride-reduced hydrolyzates has been developed. The method is accurate and sensitive, is less cumbersome and more reliable than similar procedures currently in use, and permits, for the first time, compositional analysis of hydrolyzates containing both hexoses and uronic aci...

A class of novel nickel cobalt oxide hollow nanosponges were synthesized through a sodium borohydride reduction strategy. Due to their porous and hollow nanostructures, and synergetic effects between their components, the optimized nickel cobalt oxide nanosponges exhibited excellent catalytic activity towards oxygen evolution reaction.

The title compound, C(22)H(22)BNO(3), was unintentionally obtained from salicyl-aldehyde benzyl-amine and sodium borohydride. The B-O bond lengths lie in the range 1.425 (2)-1.463 (2) Å, and B-N = 1.641 (2) Å. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains in the [010] direction.
