Herein, the synthesis of a novel nitroxide-mediated polymerization (NMP) initiator bearing photolabile ortho-nitrobenzyl (oNB) group allowing surface-initiated NMP preparation well-defined photoresponsive polystyrene grafted on silica nanoparticles is described.
