We present several attacks on RSA that factor the modulus in polynomial time under the condition that a fraction of the most significant bits or least significant bits of the private exponent is available to the attacker. Our new attacks on RSA are the first attacks of this type that work up to full size public or private exponent.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered to be a manifestation of liver metabolic damage and is related to insulin resistance and genetic susceptibility. Inflammation mediated by Kupffer cells (KCs) is of critical importance to the development of NAFLD. The primary role of KCs in NAFLD is considered to be the perturbation of the C-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and nuclear factor-ka...

Results Nearly all FCAS Il1bIl18-/-mice survived and grew normally until adulthood however, investigation of mice at > 6 months of age showed marked splenomegaly and elevated numbers of white blood cells as compared to FCAS Casp1 mice and non-mutant Il1bIl18-/-littermates, suggesting a caspase-1 dependent phenotype independent of IL-1b and IL-18. To examine other potential inflammatory mediator...

Purpose: Feto-maternal haemorrhage (FMH) is a complication of pregnancy and large FMH may lead to life-threatening anaemia in the fetus or newborn. In addition, exposure of Rhesus (Rh) D negative women to small amounts of fetal Rh D positive red cells during pregnancy or delivery may result in sensitization with its attendant problems of isoimmunisation. In most cases, the cause of FMH IS unkno...

Telomere attrition in primary human fibroblasts induces replicative senescence accompanied by activation of the p53 and p16(INK4a)/RB tumor suppressor pathways. Although the contribution of p53 and its target, p21, to telomere-driven senescence have been well established, the role of p16(INK4a) is controversial. Attempts to dissect the significance of p16(INK4a) in response to telomere shorteni...

PURPOSE The transcription factor specificity protein 1 (Sp1) controls number of cellular processes by regulating the expression of critical cell cycle, differentiation, and apoptosis-related genes containing proximal GC/GT-rich promoter elements. We here provide experimental and clinical evidence that Sp1 plays an important regulatory role in multiple myeloma (MM) cell growth and survival. EX...

When individuals face uncontrollable situations such as natural disasters, meaning-focused coping (MFC) can contribute to individuals' adjustment. The objectives of the current study were to examine the role of MFC in post-traumatic growth and to explore how three different types of coping (problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, and MFC) affected the mental health of earthquake victims...

Programmed cell death represents an important pathogenic mechanism in various autoimmune diseases. Type I diabetes mellitus (IDDM) is a T cell-dependent autoimmune disease resulting in selective destruction of the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans. beta cell apoptosis has been associated with IDDM onset in both animal models and newly diagnosed diabetic patients. Several apoptotic pathways...
