The asymmetric unit of the title Schiff base compound, C(16)H(12)Cl(2)F(2)N(2), contains one half of the centrosymmetric mol-ecule. Mol-ecules related by translation along the a axis form stacks with short inter-molecular C⋯C distances of 3.429 (3) Å. The crystal packing also exhibits short inter-molecular Cl⋯F contacts of 3.087 (1) Å.
In the title Schiff base, C(18)H(14)N(4)O, the amido -NH- unit is connected to one of the two pyridyl N atoms at an N(-H)⋯N distance of 2.624 (2) Å. The mol-ecular packing features an inter-molecular C-H⋯N R(2) (2)(6) hydrogen-bonding ring motif.
The centrosymmetric title complex, [Ni(C(13)H(19)N(2)O(2))(2)], is a mononuclear nickel(II) complex. The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms of two deprotonated Schiff base ligands, forming a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination configuration, in which the tertiary N atoms occupy the axial positions.
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(28)H(22)Br(2)N(2)O(2)S(2), comprises half of a Schiff base ligand, the whole mol-ecule being generated by a crystallographic inversion center located at the mid-point of the C-C bond of the central methyl-ene segment. Intra-molecular O-H⋯N and O-H⋯S hydrogen bonds make S(6) and S(5) ring motifs, respectively. In the crystal, there are no significant ...
In the title dinuclear compound, [V(2)(C(15)H(17)N(2)O)(2)O(4)], each V(V) atom is six-coordinated by one oxide group, and by two N and one O atom of the tridentate Schiff base ligand, and bridged by two additional oxide O atoms, resulting in a centrosymmetric dimer. The metal centre has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with the monoanionic Schiff base ligand occupying one equatorial and tw...
The Zn atom in the title compound, [Zn(C(17)H(14)ClN(2)O)(2)], is N,O-chelated by two deprotonated Schiff base monoanionic ligands in a tetra-hedral coordination geometry. The Zn atom lies on a special position of site symmetry 2.
A new dinuclear complex, [Ni(2)(H(2)O)L(4)].5H(2)O, consisting of chelating bidentate and bridging tridentate coordinated 2-[(4-methylphenylimino)methyl]-6-methoxyphenol (HL) Schiff base ligands and water molecules has been synthesized using a traditional method. The structure of this complex was characterized by FTIR and UV/Vis spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analyses (TG-DTG) and further c...
In this paper we study the relation between nonhomogeneous and homogeneous Sagbi bases. As a consequence, we present a general principle of computing Sagbi bases of a subalgebra and its homogenized subalgebra, which is based on passing over to homogenized generators.
The title mononuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C(17)H(14)Br(2)N(2)O(2))], possesses a crystallographically imposed C(2) axis. The Zn atom is four-coordinated by two O and two N atoms from two Schiff base ligands, forming a severely distorted square-planar geometry. The central C atom of the propyl group is disordered over two positions about the twofold axis.
Schiff bases are the biologically privileged scaffolds in organic chemistry, commonly synthesized from the condensation reaction of carbonyl functional group with amines. Naturally occurring and synthetically prepared Schiff bases are active molecules with many pharmacological activities like antibacterial, anti-cancer, anti-fungal, anti-malarial, antioxidant and many more. This review article ...
