We have developed a bandpass oating-gate ampli er that uses tunneling and pFET hot-electron injection to set its DC operating point adaptively. Because the gate currents are small, the circuit exhibits a high-pass characteristic with a cuto frequency less than 1 Hz. The high-frequency cuto is controlled electronically, as is done in continuous-time lters. We have derived analytical models that ...

We introduce the Autozeroing Floating-Gate Second-Order Section. We built this second-order lter where the corner frequency and Q are electronically tunable based on a classic lter topology and principles of OTA ampli ers. We built this second-order lter using three AFGAs| our oating-gate ampli er that sets its operating point by the interaction of hot-electron injection and electron-tunneling....

In this work, we proposed a voltage-to-current cell based on a Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) inverter designed by using floating gate transistors. We demonstrate its usefulness for the design of stair-type and sawtooth functions to be used in the implementation of a multiscroll chaotic oscillator. The main advantage of using floating gate transistors to design the nonlinear fun...

Introduction: Random number generation is indispensable in cryptography, scientific computing and stochastic computing. In cryptography, the quality of randomness of the generator is critical for security [1]. The pseudo-RNG generates sequences using a deterministic algorithm, so the sequence inevitably repeats and becomes predictable. A true RNG is nondeterministic and unpredictable, often rel...

We have designed, fabricated, and tested an adaptive WinnerTake-All (WTA) circuit based upon the classic WTA of Lazzaro, et al [IJ. We have added a time dimension (adaptation) to this circuit to make the input derivative an important factor in winner selection. To accomplish this, we have modified the classic WTA circuit by adding floating gate transistors which slowly null their inputs over ti...

This paper presents a 6 transistor fully differential dualended low-voltage (ULV) FGUVMOS operational transconductance amplifier (FGUVMOS-OTA), and a Gm-C filter where the FGUVMOS-OTA is used. The OTA has rail-torail operation. A basic Gm-C filter implemented with the OTA is presented. The cut-off frequency of the filter is tunable over almost 6 decades with a supply voltage below 1V.

In this paper, we describe our oating-gate pFET device, with its many circuit applications and supporting experimental measurements. We developed these devices in standard double-poly CMOS technologies by utilizing many eeects inherent in these processes. We add oating-gate charge by electron tunneling, and we remove oating-gate charge by hot-electron injection. With this oating-gate technology...

We have addressed the problem of threshold voltage ( TH) variation in flash memory cells after heavy-ion irradiation by using specially designed array structures and test instruments. After irradiation, low TH tails appear in TH distributions, growing with ion linear energy transfer (LET) and fluence. In particular, high LET ions, such as iodine used in this paper, can produce a bit flip. Since...

Competitive learning is a general technique for training clustering and classification networks. We have developed an 11-transistor silicon circuit, that we term an automaximizing bump circuit, that uses silicon physics to naturally implement a similarity computation, local adaptation, simultaneous adaptation and computation and nonvolatile storage. This circuit is an ideal building block for c...
