This study aimed to investigate the relationship between bladder trabeculation, urinary function, and the stage of pelvic organ prolapse (POP). The medical records of 104 patients with POP who underwent cystoscopies and urodynamic studies were reviewed retrospectively. Age, incidence of detrusor instability, stage and site of POP, and the parameters of urodynamic studies of patients with and wi...

Percutaneous osteoplasty (POP) as a technical extension of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) has been used to treat malignant disease that affects the skeletal system. POP has demonstrated good outcome for pain relief and functional improvement. Few studies have reported on the efficiency of POP to treat malignancies located in the femoral head. We designed a pilot study with the use of POP to ...

KEY CLINICAL MESSAGE Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is common among multiparous elderly women. POP related to obstructive anuria is very uncommon, but can be life-threatening if untreated. In this report, the patient survived from a septic shock with multidisciplinary treatment and was completely cured of POP after tension-free vaginal mesh repair.

Motivated by the pop-stack-sorting map on symmetric groups, Defant defined an operator $\mathsf{Pop}_M : M \to M$ for each complete meet-semilattice $M$ $$\mathsf{Pop}_M(x)=\bigwedge(\{y\in M: y\lessdot x\}\cup \{x\}).$$ This paper concerns dynamics of $\mathsf{Pop}_{\mathrm{Tam}_n}$, where $\mathrm{Tam}_n$ is $n$-th Tamari lattice. We say element $x\in \mathrm{Tam}_n$ $t$-$\mathsf{Pop}$-sortab...

With the first metal enrichment by Population III (Pop III) supernovae (SNe), the formation of the first metal-enriched, Pop II stars becomes possible. In turn, Pop III star formation and early metal enrichment are slowed by the high-energy radiation emitted by Pop II stars. Thus, through the SNe and radiation they produce, Pops II and III co-evolve in the early Universe, one regulated by the o...

Introduction. Manufactured Colas are consumed universally as soft drinks. Evidence about the acid contents of Cola-beverages and its effects on teeth is rare. Aim. To assess (i) cola acidity and buffering capacity in vitro, (ii) tooth erosion after swishing with colas in vivo (iii) scanning electron microscopic effects on teeth of colas, and tooth-brush abrasion, and (iv) report a clinical case...

In C. elegans the 4-cell stage blastomere EMS is an endomesodermal precursor. Its anterior daughter, MS, makes primarily mesodermal cells, while its posterior daughter E generates the entire intestine. The gene regulatory network underlying specification of MS and E has been the subject of study for more than 15 years. A key component of the specification of the two cells is the involvement of ...

OBJECTIVE To describe the frequency of use and recent change in use of synthetic mesh and biologic grafts in pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence surgery by American Urogynecology Society (AUGS) members. METHODS An electronic survey of AUGS members was conducted between December 2011 and January 2012. Frequency of graft use in POP (overall and by transvaginal and transa...

A Pop III/Pop II transition from massive to normal stars is predicted to occur when the metallicity of the star forming gas crosses the critical range Zcr = 10 −5±1 Z⊙. To investigate the cosmic implications of such process we use numerical simulations which follow the evolution, metal enrichment and energy deposition of both Pop III and Pop II stars. We find that: (i) due to inefficient heavy ...
