background bacterial resistance to antibiotics has become a major source of concern for public health. pseudomonas aeruginosa strains are important opportunistic pathogens. these bacteria have a high resistance to a wide range of existing antimicrobials and antibiotics. objectives the present study was performed to evaluate the frequency of kpc in p. aeruginosa isolated from clinical samples of...

The main objective of the present study was to estimate genetic and phenotypic trends for body weight traits in Guilan province sheep. Traits included were birth weight (BW, n=14,549), 3-month weight (3MW, n=13,109) and 6-month weight (6MW, n=10,141). Data and pedigree information used in this study were collected during 1994 to 2011 by the Agricultural Organization of Guilan province in Iran. ...

Genetic variability is a major component which helps in selecting better genotypes under different environmental conditions. Thus, this study was conducted to understand the genetic and its components their trait associations of yield characters from cross GKVK-13 KCG-2 that contribute F6 F7 families. In an augmented block design with three checks, TMV-2, KCG-6, KCG-2, carried out at University...

Lactobacilli with tannase activity were isolated from human feces and fermented foods. A PCR-based taxonomic assay revealed that the isolates belong to Lactobacillus plantarum, L. paraplantarum, and L. pentosus. Additional studies on a range of Lactobacillus species from established culture collections confirmed that this enzymatic activity is a phenotypic property common to these three species.

Following transformation of a Drosophila melanogaster true M strain with an autonomous P element, six lines were established and monitored for their molecular and phenotypic properties during a 4-yr period. The number of P elements increased with time in all the lines but the rate of increase differed among lines. Furthermore, degenerate elements arose in each of the lines during propagation. B...

One essential prerequisite for genotypic drug susceptibility testing of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is the phenotypic characterization of mutations identified in the viral protein kinase gene UL97 and the viral DNA polymerase gene UL54 regarding their quantitative impact on drug susceptibility. We developed a new method for phenotypic characterization of UL54 mutations with regard to polymeras...
