Two new antimony telluride single source precursors (SSPs), Ph2SbTeR (R = Et, Ph), have been used to synthesise pure and defect free hexagonal Sb2Te3 nanoplates by thermal decomposition in an organic solvent. The chemical composition of the SSPs plays an important role in the formation of antimony telluride nanocrystals.

The major components from Sappi Saiccor’s two bleaching streams of effluent were isolated and purified using chromatographic methods and characterised using NMR and other spectroscopic techniques. The major constituents extracted by organic solvents were identified as a sterol, fatty acids and lignin precursors and differ from the components identified in the pulping effluent stream.
Here, we investigated the relationship between the surface potentials and molecular interactions in the alucone films grown by molecular layer deposition.
