This paper presents a framework to solve the Faddeev equations for three-nucleon scattering using wave-packet continuum-discretization method. The authors perform benchmark calculations with chiral nucleon-nucleon interactions. represents first step toward systematic inclusion of in construction next-generation nuclear
Applications of effective field theory to nucleon-nucleon scattering, quarkonia decay and production and B meson decay are discussed. Some unresolved issues are considered.

The dressed K-matrix model, developed previously for lowand intermediate-energy Compton scattering, is generalized to calculate the photon-nucleon vertex with a virtual photon and an off-shell nucleon. This model was used to compute the ratio of the proton electromagnetic form factors. The calculated ratio is in excellent agreement with the ratio measured in polarized electron-proton scattering.
Research Board. The proposal consists of three main parts: 1) nucleon structure study via DrellYan process using a negative pion beam and transversely polarized proton target 2)nucleon structure study in exclusive positive and negative muon beam scattering off the unpolarized proton target 3)test of the chiral perturbative theory predictions via reactions of Primakoff scattering using hadron beam.
The collapse-driven supernova is supposed to be an outcome of gravitational collapse of a massive star ∼ 8M at the end of its evolution. Although more than 60 years have passed since the original idea by Baade and Zwicky [1,2], and the detection of neutrinos from SN1987A [3,4] confirmed that our scenario is correct on the whole, we have not yet figured out how this phenomenon occurs. These days...
We study the role of the nucleon resonances (N *) in ω photoproduction by using the quark model resonance parameters predicted by Capstick and Roberts. The employed γN → N * and N * → ωN amplitudes include the configuration mixing effects due to the residual quark-quark interactions. The contributions from the nucleon resonances are found to be important in the differential cross sections at la...
A framework based on a full-folding model of the nucleon optical potential is presented for studying nuclear densities of closed-shell nuclei using intermediate energy nucleon scattering. Using a density-matrix expansion for the mixed density, a simplified optical potential is obtained that retains the energy and momentum dependence of the effective interaction prescribed by the full-folding mo...
