In this contribution we study azimuthal angle decorrelation in inclusive dijet cross sections taking into account the next–to–leading (NLO) corrections to the BFKL kernel while keeping the jet vertices at leading order. We show how the angular decorrelation for jets with a wide relative separation in rapidity largely decreases when the NLO corrections are included.
The next to leading order (NLO) contribution of the generalized finite size mass shift formula for an interacting two stable particle system in a periodic L3 box is discriminated with maintaining its model independent structure and validity to all orders in perturbation theory. The influence of the NLO contribution is examined for the nucleon mass shift in the realistic nucleon-pion system.
This letter deals with rotor position and speed estimation of permanent magnet ac drives. Two reduced-order observers, a linear (AO) and a nonlinear one (NLO), are compared. An adaptive speed estimation scheme is also considered. Analysis and simulations show that the NLO has better performance and demands less computational load than the AO plus the adaptive scheme.
Method of polarized semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS) data analysis in the next to leading order (NLO) QCD is developed. Within the method one first directly extracts in NLO few first truncated (available to measurement) Mellin moments of the quark helicity distributions. Second, using these moments as an input to the proposed modification of the Jacobi polynomial expansion metho...
A recent global analysis of direct photon production at hadron collider and xed target experiments has noted a disturbing trend of disagreement between next-to-leading-order (NLO) calculations and data. The conjecture has been made that the discrepancy is due to explicit multiple parton emission e ects which are not accounted for in the theoretical calculations. We investigate this problem by m...
We present a brief description of the light-cone gauge calculation of the spin-dependent next-to-leading order splitting functions. It has recently become possible to perform analyses of the spin-dependent parton distributions of a longitudinally polarized hadron at next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy of QCD. A first such phenomenological NLO study, taking into account all available experiment...
Recent measurements of the inclusive jet cross section, dijet cross section, dijet invariant mass distributions and strong coupling constant at TEVATRON, HERA and LEP colliders are presented in this paper. The comparisons with NLO perturbative QCD predictions are shown. In general consistency with QCD predictions is observed for a variety of processes and energy ranges. The observed discrepanci...
Multiple sensors are used in a variety of geolocation systems. Many use Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) or Received Signal Strength (RSS) measurements to estimate the most likely location of a signal. When an object does not emit an RF signal, Angle of Arrival (AOA) measurements using optical or infrared frequencies become more feasible than TDOA or RSS measurements. AOA measurements can be c...
Nitrogen is a common structural element in the acceptor moieties of organic donor-acceptor nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores. In order to assess the effect of substitution with heavier group 15 elements, computational studies of the nonlinear optical properties of betaine derivatives, (CH(3))(3)X(+)CH(2)CO(2)(-) (X = N, P, As, Sb, Bi), have been performed. First hyperpolarisabilities, β(HRS)...
A recent global analysis of direct photon production at hadron collider and fixed target experiments has noted a disturbing trend of disagreement between next-to-leading-order (NLO) calculations and data. The conjecture has been made that the discrepancy is due to explicit multiple parton emission effects which are not accounted for in the theoretical calculations. We investigate this problem b...
