The reactions of nickel(0) complexes with phosphine, bipyridine-type, and N-heterocyclic carbene ligands aryl, vinyl, alkyl halides is reviewed.

Compounds containing two N-heterocyclic olefin (NHO) moieties connected by a 1,1′-ferrocenylene linker are described, which represent new class of ferrocene-based bidentate ligands. They contain three redox-active groups, viz. the ferrocene unit and NHO moieties, can be oxidised consecutively according to their cyclovoltammetric behaviour.
