The effects of MoOx structure on propane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) rates and selectivity were examined on Al2O3-supported MoOx catalysts with a wide range of surface density (0.4-12 Mo/nm), and compared with those obtained on MoOx/ZrO2. On MoOx/Al2O3 catalysts, propane turnover rate increased with increasing Mo surface density and reached a maximum value for samples with ~ 4.5 Mo/nm. All ...

Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDC) like MoS2 are promising candidates for next-generation electric and optoelectronic devices. These TMDC monolayers are typically synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). However, despite significant amount of empirical work on this CVD growth of monolayered crystals, neither experiment nor theory has been able to decipher mechanisms of selection rul...

Solution-processed nanocomposites containing molybdenum oxide (MoO3) and gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) have been used as anode buffer layers in organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs). The resulting devices exhibit a remarkable enhancement in power conversion efficiency after Au NPs were incorporated into the device. Such enhancements can be attributed to the localized surface plasmon resonance induc...

Vanadium oxide-molybdenum oxide (VO-MO) thin (21-475 nm) films were grown on quartz and silicon substrates by pulsed RF magnetron sputtering technique by altering the RF power from 100 to 600 W. Crystalline VO-MO thin films showed the mixed phases of vanadium oxides e.g., V2O5, V2O3 and VO2 along with MoO3. Reversible or smart transition was found to occur just above the room temperature i.e., ...

In this work, we propose a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor based on hybrid structure of silicon nitride (Si3N4), molybdenum trioxide (MoO3), and graphene oxide (GO) in the Kretschmann configuration. To investigate performance parameters SPR biosensor, calculate, theoretically, reflectance spectra proposed model analysed it. The investigation various i.e., sensitivity, detection accura...

Sample suspension is a valuable method to improve the mechanical, thermal, electronic, and optical properties of low-dimensional materials. In terms confined light-matter waves—the polaritons, sample can elongate wavelength polaritons with positive phase velocity. Previous work demonstrates elongation ?10% for hyperbolic phonon (HPPs) in uniaxial crystals hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). this wor...

The hydrogen reduction of molybdenum trioxide to dioxide is not yet fully understood as evident by continuous scientific interest. Especially the effect potassium content on process has been considered. We prepared several samples containing varying amounts addition molybdate (K2MoO4). In situ powder X-ray diffraction experiments were then conducted study these samples. especially focused influ...

The main purpose of this work consists on the preparation of single layered molybdenum oxynitride, MoNxOy. The films were deposited on steel substrates by dc reactive magnetron sputtering. The depositions were carried out from a pure Mo target varying the flow rate of reactive gases, which allowed tune the crystallographic structure between insulating oxides and metallic nitrides and consequent...

Palladium-catalyzed acetylene trimerization and the metathesis of olefins catalyzed by molybdenum and its oxides are investigated in ultrahigh vacuum and at high pressures. Benzene is formed on Pd(111) by the reaction between adsorbed acetylene and a surface C4 metallocycle. The resulting benzene evolves in temperature-programmed desorption in two distinct states. The low-temperature state is p...
