Phyllodes tumors are an infrequent breast tumor presentation. A phyllodes tumor with a synchronous invasive ductal carcinoma is rarely described and has never been reported with lobular carcinoma in situ component. A 53-year-old female presented with a nine-year history of twice core biopsy proven fibroadenoma. After an increase in the tumor's growth velocity it was decided upon to undergo an e...

A conditional tetracycline-responsive transgenic mouse model with deregulated estrogen receptor a expression in mammary epithelial cells developed ductal hyperplasia (DH), lobular hyperplasia, and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) by 4 months of age. Higher proliferative rates were found in both normal and abnormal ductal and lobular structures. DH and DCIS but not normal ductal structures showed...

High-risk lesions of the breast are lesions that confer an increased risk of breast cancer, either because of an increased probability of finding cancer associated with percutaneous biopsy findings or because of an increased probability of developing breast cancer over the long term. Atypical ductal hyperplasia found on percutaneous biopsy is generally excised, whereas lobular neoplasia lesions...

BACKGROUND Male breast cancer is rare and represents less than 1% of all breast cancers. Considering the fact that the male breast most often does not consist of lobules and acini, lobular carcinoma of the male breast is exceptionally rare. CASE REPORT In this paper we present a unique case of alveolar variant of lobular male breast cancer in a 56-year-old patient. CONCLUSION According to o...

Carcinoma arising from ectopic breast tissue, either supernumerary breast or aberrant breast tissue, is extremely rare. Carcinoma occurs more frequently in the ectopic breast tissue of the axilla than in extra-axillary ectopic breast tissue. Here we report a case of an invasive lobular carcinoma arising from extra-axillary ectopic breast tissue and presenting as a subcutaneous nodule.

Abstract Hyperechogenic breast lesions are a relatively rare finding at ultrasonography and traditionally thought to be benign. However, hyperechogenicity on the ultrasound alone does not provide enough evidence rule out malignancy completely. We herein reported short series of nine cases echogenic malignant lesions, which include invasive ductal carcinoma, carcinoma in situ, lobular angiosarco...

Background Pleomorphic invasive lobular carcinoma (P-ILC) is an uncommon variety of invasive lobular carcinoma with aggressive clinical features. Little is described in the literature regarding this topic. Materials and methods We reviewed our experiences from 2010 to 2015 and compared 40 patients with P-ILC, 126 patients with classic-ILC (C-ILC) and 574 cases of high-grade invasive ductal ca...
