Time-dependent density functional theory is extended to include dissipative systems evolving under a master equation, providing a Hamiltonian treatment for molecular electronics. For weak electric fields, the isothermal conductivity is shown to match the adiabatic conductivity, thereby recovering the Landauer result.

We investigate transport properties of multiterminal structures composed of a d-wave superconductor connected to two ferromagnetic electrodes. Using a non-equilibrium Green's function method and a Landauer approach we show that crossed Andreev reflections and cotunneling exist also with d-wave su-perconductors, however their properties are governed by the anisotropy of the d-wave pair potential.

The classical problem of a time-modulated barrier, inspired by the Büttiker and Landauer model to study the tunneling times, is analyzed. We show that the traversaltime distribution of an ensemble of non-interacting particles that arrives at the oscillating barrier, obeys a distribution with a power-law tail.
