Spectral unmixing and sub-pixel mapping have been used to estimate the proportion and spatial distribution of the different land-cover classes in mixed pixels at a sub-pixel scale. In the past decades, several algorithms were proposed in both categories; however, these two techniques are generally regarded as independent procedures, with most sub-pixel mapping methods using abundance maps gener...

The kinematic mapping x = f(&thetas;) is generally many to one. For nonredundant manipulators, this means that there are a finite number of configurations (joint angles) that will place the end-effector at a target location in the workspace. These correspond to postures of the manipulator, and each configuration lies on a specific solution branch. It is shown that for certain classes of revolut...

In this paper, we describe a statistical approach to both an articulatory-to-acoustic mapping and an acoustic-to-articulatory inversion mapping without using phonetic information. The joint probability density of an articulatory parameter and an acoustic parameter is modeled using a Gaussian mixture model (GMM) based on a parallel acoustic-articulatory speech database. We apply the GMM-based ma...

rheumatoid arthritis is a disease associated with painful joints that affects approximately 1% of the population worldwide, and for which no effective cure is available. it is characterized by chronic joint inflammation and variable degrees of bone and cartilage erosion. oxygen metabolism has an important role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. reactive oxygen species (ros) are produc...

Cognitive scientists and developmental psychologists have suggested that development in perceptual, motor and memory functions of human infants as well as adaptive evaluation by caregivers facilitate learning for cognitive tasks by infants. This article presents a robotic approach to understanding the mechanism of how learning for joint attention can be helped by such functional development. A ...

this report describes a rare intra-articular benign tumor, lipoma arborescens, of the knee joint in a 21 year-old female. the patient suffered from left knee joint swelling for five years with occasional pain. swelling was soft and boggy in the suprapatellar area. motion of joint was complete. no abnormality was detected in any laboratory tests. mri showed a large soft tissue density in the sup...

We revise a monogenic calculus for several non-commuting operators, which is defined through group representations. Instead of an algebraic homomorphism we use group covariance. The related notion of joint spectrum and spectral mapping theorem are discussed. The construction is illustrated by a simple example of calculus and joint spectrum of two non-commuting selfadjoint n× n matrices.

SUMMARY Asthma, allergic rhinitis (AR) and atopic dermatitis also called eczema are allergic co-morbidites which are likely to depend on pleiotropic genetic effects as well as on specific genetic factors. After a previous genome-wide linkage screen conducted for asthma and AR in a sample of 295 French EGEA families ascertained through asthmatic subjects, the aim here was to search for genetic f...

Non-communicable diseases is that are not caused by germs but rather because of physiological or metabolic problems in human body tissues. Usually, this disease occurs due to unhealthy lifestyle. One way find out how large the spread non-communicable mapping using biplot analysis. Biplot analysis applied determine proximity information between objects, length change vector, correlation modifier...
