Cathodoluminescence (CL) spectroscopy is performed on conducting 1and 2-dimensional gratings of metals, semimetals and semi-conductors of varying periods from 0.5 to 20 microns for a range of grating amplitudes from 0.1 to 4.6 microns. The overall emission spectrum consists of a 400 nm wide band centered at ~600 nm which depends little on the grating period, grating amplitude, material, e-beam ...

A new concept based on a Fabry–Pérot interferometer for the generation of nondiffracting Bessel beams is described and proposed for potential applications in microlithography such as the fabrication of small isolated patterns. It was experimentally demonstrated that the depth of focus can be increased by a factor of about 2, and simultaneously the transverse resolution improved by a factor of 1...

The throughput performance of slotted ALOHA (S-ALOHA) in a cellular system and Nakagami fading environment is studied. Based on the signal capture model, the effects of the multiple access interference (MAI) from in-cell users and the cochannel interference (CCI) from cochannel cells are quantified analytically. Especially considered are the cases when asynchronism of cochannel cells is present...

The conditions to induce appreciable CP-and T-odd effects in neutrino oscillations are discussed. The propagation in matter leads to fake CP-and CPT-odd asymmetries, besides a Bohm-Aharonov type modification of the interference pattern. We study the separation of fake and genuine CP violation by means of energy and distance dependence.

This paper presents a comprehensive study related to simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in different types of wireless communication setups. Harvesting energy using SWIPT is an appealing solution in the context of extending battery life of wireless devices for a fully sustainable communication system. Strong signal power increases power transfer, but also causes more i...

Consistent evidence nowadays indicates that sleep protects declarative memory from lexical interference. However, little is known about its effect against emotional interference. In a within-subject counterbalanced design, participants learned a list of word pairs after a mood induction procedure (MIP), then slept or stayed awake during the post-learning night. After two recovery nights, half o...

The interaction between emotion and working memory maintenance, load, and performance has been investigated with mixed results. The effect of emotion on specific executive processes such as interference resolution, however, remains relatively unexplored. In this series of studies, we examine how emotion affects interference resolution processes within working memory by modifying the Recency-pro...

during a period of 7 years (1997-2003) we were received pairs of serum and csf of 27 suspicious clinically cases from neurology department of several hospitals in tehran. among them 7 were serologically positive for progressive rubella panencephalitis (prpe) and 2 were positive for sub acute sclerosing panencephalitis (sspe). rubella virus was isolated from 4 of 7 serologically positive cases o...

The purpose of this study was to examine linguistic influences on the auditory and visual processing of words both behaviorally and electrophysiologically. Our task yielded measures of the effect of irrelevant semantic content (Stroop interference) and of the effect of irrelevant linguistic variability (Garner interference). The behavioral results allow us to assess whether the linguistic and n...

A deficit in "interference control" is commonly found in adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This has mainly been interpreted as difficulties in inhibiting inappropriate responses. However, interference control involves processes other than simply the ability to inhibit. Consequently, we used sophisticated analysis to decipher the additional processes of interference co...
