An interesting cultural practice of implanting foreign bodies under the skin of the penis for enhancing sexual excitement in the man's sexual partner is described. Recognition of this is important to venereologists because of their primary concern with the genital area. The term artificial penile nodule has been suggested for the condition resulting from this practice.

To overcome current limitations of valve substitutes and tissue substitutes the technology of tissue engineering (TE) continues to offer new perspectives in congenital cardiac surgery. We report our experiences and results implanting a decellularized TE patch in nine sheep in orthotropic position as aortic valve leaflet substitute. Establishing the animal model, feasibility, cardiopulmonary byp...

Venous thrombosis or stenosis frequently occurs after implanting transvenous pacemaker leads, and it is usually asymptomatic. The reported incidence 30%–64%. mandatory treatments are balloon angioplasty, stenting, thrombolytic, mechanical thrombectomy, venous grafting. We present a case with the special cooperation of an electrophysiologist coronary interventionist in Ha Noi Heart Hospital, Vie...

Anabolic implants are routinely used in the finishing phase of beef production to improve animal performance and feed efficiency. Implanting during the feedlot phase on average increases ADG 18%, feed intake 6%, feed efficiency 8%, carcass weight 5%, and ribeye area 4% compared with nonimplanted controls. Implants reduce the cost of beef production, which is important given current high feed co...

Human brain stimulation for therapeutic purposes has many short- and long-term limitations. The possibility of implanting magnetic, rather than electrical, stimulation devices would present a possible solution to some of the problems. The development of a new microscopic magnetic stimulation device provides a glimpse of the realisation.

Prosthetic tricuspid valve is an obstacle to implant cardiac devise. Cardiac Resynchronization therapy is one of the most popular therapies for heart failure patients these days. We present this case of prosthetic tricuspid valve and left ventricular dysfunction which we overcome the problem by implanting two leads to coronary sinus branches. Patient improved in few months of follow up.

Central vein stenosis is a well-documented consequence of cardiovascular implantable electronic devices. In hemodialysis patients, where preserving venous real estate is crucial, use of subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (S-ICDs) remains controversial. We present a novel approach for implanting an S-ICD in a patient with endstage renal disease, central venous stenosis, and pre...

In this case report, we discuss treatment of a 66-year-old patient with right heart failure due to chronic left heart failure caused by ischemic cardiomyopathy. We decided to manage this patient by implanting a temporary right ventricular assist device (Impella RP®) as a novel therapeutic option for acute on chronic right heart decompensation.
