Fig, 1: Structure of phenylaceticacid hydrazones and 2-chlorophenylsemicarbazones. Antidepressant activity was evaluated in albino rats weighing 100 to 120 g, by Porsolt forcecll swimming test (4). Rats were individually placed in plexiglass cylinders (height 40 cm; diameter 18 cm), containing 15 cm of water maintained at 25°C. After 15 minutes they were removed to a 30°C drying room for 30 min...

A facile and convenient synthesis of some novel hydrazones, schiff's base and pyrazoles from thieno[2,3-b]thiophene derivatives 1 have been achieved in high yields assisted by microwave and classical methods. The structures of all the title compounds have been elucidated by elemental analysis, IR, MS, (1)H-NMR and (13)C-NMR. Generally, these findings represent a new class of sulfur and nitrogen...

The design of P-type photoswitches with thermal stability the metastable form hundreds years that would efficiently transform using excitation wavelengths above 350 nm remains a challenge in field photochromism. In this regard, we designed and synthesized an extended set 13 pyridine/quinoline hydrazones systematically investigated structure-property relationships, defining their kinetic photosw...

Introduction: Recent research has reported the cytotoxic potential of hydrazones against various strains cancer cells. Aim: To evaluate anticancer activity in vitro and pharmacokinetic profile six synthesized hydrazonic compounds, identified as vanillin 1-phthalazinylhydrazone (VAN-1); 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone (VAN-2); phenylhydrazone cinnamaldehyde (CIN-1); isonicotinoyl hydrazone (CIN-2); 1...

The antimycotic activity of 16 o-nitrophenylhydrazones against strains of Hansenula anomala, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida parapsylosis, and Cryptococcus albidus was tested. All 16 compounds inhibited growth of the yeast strains. The inhibitory activity of the 4 methyl-derivatives substituted on the aromatic nucleus was particularly significant.

Molecules containing carbon–nitrogen double bonds are prevalent in both chemical and biological contexts. The foundations for our current understanding of carbon–nitrogen double-bond formation and hydrolysis were laid by seminal work on hydrazone hydrolysis and formation, and by contributions from mechanistic studies on enzymes that utilize pyridoxal phosphate. In particular, the meticulous kin...

“Malaria” is a life-threatening blood disease in tropical regions that spreads by the bite of the Anopheles mosquito. Antimalarial medications are designed to cure or prevent this infection, and prosperous achievements in this area mostly depend on the knowing the drug-receptor interactions and active sites of medicine. This improvement can be achieved through understanding the electronic struc...

In the title compound, C(11)H(15)N(3)O(3)S, the C-S-N(H)-N linkage is nonplanar, the torsion angle being 75.70 (12)°. The compound has two almost planar fragments linked to the S atom: the hydrazone-derivative fragment [(HONC(4)H(6))N-N(H)-] and the tolyl fragment (C(7)H(7)-) have maximum deviations from the mean plane through the non-H atoms of 0.0260 (10) and 0.0148 (14) Å, respectively. The ...
