hydraulic simulation of water flow in irrigation canals may reveal management shortcomings and help managers find solutions to them. hydraulic simulation models can be appropriate tools for understanding hydraulic behavior of irrigation systems. in the present study, the steady state hec-ras model was tested and compared with the mike 11 unsteady state model. a secondary irrigation canal in the...
The heterogeneity of the rock fabric is a significant factor influencing initiation and propagation hydraulic fracture (HF). This paper presents laboratory study HF created in six shale-like core samples provided by RITEK LLC collected from same well, but at different depths. For each tested sample, we determined breakdown pressure, growth rate, expansion sample moment when reaches surface. Cor...
This paper presents a 0.25 scale quasi-three-dimensional hydraulic model experiment of transient fluid flow phenomena during continuous casting steel. The relationship between the process and jump phenomenon is established. in mold divided into four stages (I–IV) from beginning to end casting. filling involves I–II investigated by high-speed camera. part cast start. In this paper, behavior vari...
The long-time behavior of the solution of the system θτ−απτ = Ω(θ), πτ−θτ = πξξ is investigated. Such a system is related to the modeling of detonation waves subjected to strong hydraulic resistance. We establish that some initial conditions yield decay (failure of ignition) while for other initial conditions our results strongly suggest convergence to traveling waves (successful ignition).
Ecosystem models have difficulty predicting plant drought responses, partially from uncertainty in the stomatal response to water deficits in soil and atmosphere. We evaluate a 'supply-demand' theory for water-limited stomatal behavior that avoids the typical scaffold of empirical response functions. The premise is that canopy water demand is regulated in proportion to threat to supply posed by...
[1] The method of recession analysis proposed by Brutsaert and Nieber (1977) remains one of the few analytical tools for estimating aquifer hydraulic parameters at the field scale and beyond. In the method, the recession hydrograph is examined as dQ/dt = f(Q), where Q is aquifer discharge and f is an arbitrary function. The observed function f is parameterized through analytical solutions to th...
