We have studied a large Swedish family with a mutation in the nerve growth factor beta (NGFB) gene causing insensitivity to deep pain without anhidrosis (hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, type V; HSAN V). Painfree joint destruction and fractures were common. Peripheral nerve conduction was normal, but temperature thresholds were increased. Sural nerve biopsies showed a moderate loss ...

Cyberbullying has become more prevalent in online social media platforms. Natural language processing and machine learning techniques have been employed to develop automatic cyberbullying detection models, which are only designed for binary classification tasks that can detect whether the text contains content. severity is a critical factor provide organizations with valuable information develo...

Contrastive deep graph clustering, which aims to divide nodes into disjoint groups via contrastive mechanisms, is a challenging research spot. Among the recent works, hard sample mining-based algorithms have achieved great attention for their promising performance. However, we find that existing mining methods two problems as follows. 1) In hardness measurement, important structural information...

Sensation and behavior are linked dimensions in human lives. Experiencing a gentle caress from a loved one is very different than getting our hand burnt on a hot stove. However both those stimuli are signaled in small diameter cutaneous afferents and have an inherent affective valence that modulates our actions. Pain is transmitted by thinly myelinated A! fibers and unmyelinated C fibers, and a...

Congenital Insensitivity to Pain belongs to the family of Hereditary Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathies (HSAN). It is a rare disorder of unknown etiology associated with loss of pain sensation. Cognition and sensation is otherwise normal and there is no detectable physical abnormality. We report a case of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain in a 3 year old female child.

Nerve growth factor (NGF), a member of the neurotrophin family, is known to regulate the development and survival of a select population of neurons through the binding and activation of the TrkA receptor. Elevated levels of NGF have been associated with painful pathologies such as diabetic neuropathy and fibromyalgia. However, completely inhibiting the NGF signal could hold significant side eff...
