A new observer, namely a cascade observer, for a general class of nonlinear SISO systems was presented by the authors [1]. Inspired by but different from a highgain observer, the cascade observer features a cascade structure and adaptive observer gains. In doing so the cascade observer attempts to overcome some of the typical problems that may pose to a high-gain observer. Based on the cascade ...
This paper introduces a new approach to output feedback stabilization of SISO systems which, unlike other techniques found in the literature, does not use quasi-linear high-gain observers and control input saturation to achieve separation between the state feedback and observer designs. Rather, we show that by using nonlinear high-gain observers working in state coordinates, together with a dyn...
This paper deals with flux estimation for induction motor drives by using a full-order flux observer. A problem of full-order flux observers is their need for computationally demanding discretization methods in order to work stably and accurately at high speeds. An implementation of the full-order flux observer using the stator and rotor fluxes as state variables in the stator reference frame a...
Abstract: The design of an observer based output feedback controller for a class of uniformly observable nonlinear systems with an admissible tracking capability, is proposed. Two fundamental features of the proposed control scheme are worth to be mentioned. The first one consists in the high gain nature of the underlying state feedback control and observer designs. More specifically, a unified...
We propose a global high-gain scaling based observer/controller for systems in the uncertain generalized output-feedback canonical form. Time-varying nonlinear parametric uncertainty is allowed to occur coupled with unmeasured states in the system dynamics. This represents a significant generalization from existing results which allow unknown parameters only in outputdependent terms. This restr...
Exploiting dynamic scaling and homogeneity in the bi-limit, we developp a new class of high gain observers which incorporate a gain update law and nonlinear output error injection terms. A broader class of systems can be addressed and the observer gain is better fitted to the incremental rate of the nonlinearities. The expected improved performance is illustrated.
We address the problem of state observation for a system whose dynamics may involve poorly known, perhaps even nonlocally Lipschitz functions and whose output measurement may be corrupted by noise. It is known that one way to cope with all these uncertainties and noise is to use a high-gain observer with a gain adapted on-line. The proposed method, while presented for a particular case, relies ...
With the rising complexity of dynamical systems generating ever more data, learning dynamics models appears as a promising alternative to physics-based modeling. However, data available from physical platforms may be noisy and not cover all state variables. Hence, it is necessary jointly perform estimation. In this letter, we propose interconnecting high-gain observer framework, specifically Ga...
