Bose-Einstein correlations and invariant momentum distributions are analyzed for longitudinally expanding finite systems, like jets in elementary particle collisions or systems created in high energy heavy ion reactions.

We report on the status of our search for quasi-topological solitons of various dimensions in realistic field theoretical models of condensed matter and of elementary particle physics.

Here we point out that the four-nucleon terms incorporate into lowest order nonlinear chiral effective Lagrangians the same description of bulk nuclear matter contained in the Walecka model, that is generally considered satisfactory. We find this point worth noticing because, while the Walecka model is an entirely phenomenological renormalizable model, non-linear chiral Lagrangians have a deep ...

Dynamics is considered as a corollary of the space-time geometry. Evolution of a particle in the space-time is described as a chain of connected equivalent geometrical objects. Space-time geometry is determined uniquely by the world function σ. Proper modification of the Minkowskian world function for large space-time interval leads to wobbling of the chain, consisted of timelike straight segme...

The top quark plays an important role in the Standard Model of particle physics as the most massive elementary particle, relevant to electroweak physics. The top was discovered via pair production [1, 2] and has also been more recently produced via single top [3, 4] channels at the Tevatron. On the theoretical side, QCD corrections are significant for top quark production and even higherorder c...

The discovery of anomalous behavior in data collected at high energy physics experiments could provide non-SUSY and non-Higgs explanations to questions associated with the Standard Model and provide deeper understanding to the fundamental particles and interactions in nature. Such questions include whether quarks and leptons are composite particles, the existence of extra dimensions, and the an...

We can no longer speak of the behavior of the particle independently of the process of observation. As a final consequence, the natural laws formulated mathematically in quantum theory no longer deal with the elementary particles themselves but with our knowledge of them. Nor is it any longer possible to ask whether or not these particles exist in space and time objectively . . . . . . Science ...

The decay of elementary particles is described nonrelativistically and using the method of the special theory of relativity. Then the Tsiolkovskii rocket equation is applied to the one photon decay of the excited nucleus of the Mössbauer effect. The formation time of photons during decay is supposed nonzero. The Meščerskii equation is possible to identify with the bremsstrahlung equation. All d...

We study the interplay of supersymmetry and certain non-compact invariance groups in extended supergravity theories (ESGTs). We use the N = 4 ESGT . to demonstrate that these symmetries do not commute and exhibit the infinite dimensional superinvariance algebra generated by them in the rigid limit. Using this result, we look for unitary representations of the full algebra. We discuss the implic...

We consider the possibility of constraining decaying dark matter by looking out through the Milky Way halo. Specifically we use Chandra blank sky observations to constrain the parameter space of sterile neutrinos. We find that a broad band in parameter space is still open, leaving the sterile neutrino as an excellent dark matter candidate. Subject headings: dark matter — elementary particles — ...
