Tar?msal amaçl? pestisit olarak hegzaklorosiklohegzan (HCH, C6H6Cl6) kullan?m?, tehlikeli olmas? nedeniyle art?k birçok ülkede yasaklanm?? olmas?na ra?men, günümüzde hala HCH stoklar? bulunmaktad?r.
Staphylococcus aureusstrain HUK16 has been isolated from hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH)-long-term contaminated soil. The genome of strain HUK16 was sequenced to understand the genetic basis of its adaptation to HCH and to find the potential metabolic pathways allowing it to degrade the pesticide. Here, we report the annotated draft genome sequence (~2.7 Mbp) of this strain.
Sphingobium lactosutens DS20(T) has been isolated from the hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) dumpsite in Lucknow, India, but does not degrade any of the HCH isomers. Here, we present the ~5.36-Mb draft genome sequence of strain DS20(T), which consists of 110 contigs and 5,288 coding sequences, with a G+C content of 63.1%.
Ralstonia sp. strain GA3-3 is a hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH)-degrading bacterial strain isolated from suburban soil in Canberra, Australia. The genome of strain GA3-3 was sequenced to investigate its ability to degrade α-HCH. Here, we report the annotated genome sequence of this strain.
In this study, we evaluate the long-term and seasonal variations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), hexachlorobenzene (HCB), α-, γ-hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCH), p,p′-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (p,p′-DDT) its metabolites through a passive air sampling method at two (urban suburban) stations in Eastern Siberia, Russia, 2011–2017. The median levels HCB, ∑HCHs, ∑DDTs, ∑PCB39, ∑PCB6 were 116,...
Agricultural soils are often cocontaminated with multiple pesticides. Unfortunately, microorganisms isolated from natural environments do not possess the ability to simultaneously degrade different classes of pesticides. Currently, we can use the approaches of synthetic biology to create a strain endowed with various catabolic pathways that do not exist in a natural microorganism. Here, we desc...
This study investigated the presence and levels of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) (hexachlorobenzene (HCB), α‐, β‐, δ‐, and γ‐hexachlorohexane (HCH), dieldrin, dichloro-diphenyltrichloroethane (p,p’-DDT), dichloro-diphenyl-dichloroethylene (p,p’-DDE), dichloro-diphenyldichloroethane (p,p’-DDD) and trans-nonachlor) in Solanum lycopersicum and Capsicum annuum samples commercially sold in Nigeri...
Among all classes of synthetic pesticides, organochlorines have found indiscriminate applications in the last century. DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) and HCH (hexachlorocyclohexane) were the major OCP (organochlorine pesticides) used by many developed and developing countries. Lindane (HCH) and DDT were detected in the water, sediments and biota of certain provinces in China even after ...
γ-Hexachlorocyclohexane (γ-HCH) is a recalcitrant man-made chlorinated pesticide. Here, the complete genome sequences of four γ-HCH-degrading sphingomonad strains, which are most unlikely to have been derived from one ancestral γ-HCH degrader, were compared. Together with several experimental data, we showed that (i) all the four strains carry almost identical linA to linE genes for the convers...
This paper presents a comprehensive study of pesticide levels and bio-accumulation characteristics in human adipose tissues among residents of Southeast China. A large number of adipose samples (n=633) were selected for 58 pesticides and were analyzed by high sensitive Gas Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The results showed that POPs pesticides were frequently detected, inclu...
