We present the results of carrying out multi-object spectroscopy in 10 EIS cluster fields. Based on the list of 345 galaxy redshifts we identify significant 3D-density enhancements. For 9 of the EIS clusters we identify significant 3D-concentrations corresponding to the originally detected cluster candidate. We find redshifts in the range 0.097 ≤ z ≤ 0.257 which is in good agreement with the ma...

This paper propose a novel framework for a data driven grasp planner that indexes partial sensor data into a database of 3D models with known grasps and transfers grasps from those models to novel objects. We show how to construct such a database and also demonstrate multiple methods for matching into it, aligning the matched models with the known sensor data of the object to be grasped, and se...

The most unique characteristic of the matched filter is that it produces the maximum achievable instantaneous SNR at its output when a signal plus additive white noise are present at the input. The noise does not need to be Gaussian. The peak instantaneous SNR at the receiver output can be achieved by matching the radar receiver transfer function to the received signal. We will show that the pe...

Thesis under the direction of Professor Sohee Park Schizophrenia (SZ) patients exhibit deficits in recognition and identification of facial emotional expressions but it is unclear whether these deficits result from abnormal affective processing or an impaired ability to process complex visual stimuli such as faces. SZ and matched healthy controls (CO) participated in two computerized visual mat...

We estimate “CEO style” wage equations using two longitudinal matched employeremployee data sets. We develop a model in which the wages of all employees in a ...rm are linked to those of top management, which generates speci...c empirical implications that have already been tested on CEOs. We provide evidence that the wages of “regular” employees in large ...rms are linked to accounting and sto...
