Chilling stress usually can be seen in tropical and subtropical crops or in crops which are grown in afore mentioned areas. Generally, the crops are very sensitive to chilling stress during their active growth and early stages of their development. In this research, a study on the effects of chilling stress and salicylic acid on physiological and biochemical traits of corn hybrid single-cross 4...

The use of plant growth hormones and beneficial microorganisms, could reduce the drought damage. The purpose of this study was to investigate the treatment with salicylic acid and inoculated with mycorrhizal fungi at different levels of irrigation on flax growth. A factorial experiment based on randomized complete blocks design with 3 replications was performed in growth chamber of college of a...

The experimental studies on the fate of salicylic acid have yielded many conflicting results. In 1856, Bertagnini (1) reported that after ingesting salicylic acid he succeeded in isolating a compound consisting of glycine and salicylic acid which he named salicyluric acid because of its analogy to hippuric acid. Later investigators who also reported finding salicyluric acid are Nencki (2), Lesn...

Cucumber is one of the most important vegetable and summer crops economically and is the fourth most cultivated plant in the world after tomatoes and potatoes. In this study, the effect of plant inducers including salicylic acid and jasmonic acid on the viral disease of greenhouse cucumber with Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) and also the expression of defense genes was investigated. Treatments inc...

Pseudomonas aeruginosa mutants requiring salicylic acid for pyochelin biosynthesis were isolated after chemical mutagenesis by plating on a siderophore detection medium. Like the wild type, these mutants incorporated 7-[14C]salicylic acid into pyochelin, demonstrating that salicylic acid is an intermediate in the biosynthesis pathway of pyochelin.

We investigated the effects of acetylsalicylic acid, salicylic acid, sulfisoxazole, and phenobarbital-at concentrations at or just above those in serum after therapy-on results of the 2(4’ -hydroxyazobenzene) benzoic acid (HABA) and bromcresol green (BCG) methods for measuring serum albumin. Although the HABA method was more prone to such interference, only interference by salicylic acid with t...

AIMS To determine serum salicylic acid concentrations in non-vegetarians and vegetarians not taking salicylate drugs, and to compare these concentrations with those found in patients taking aspirin, 75 mg daily. METHODS Serum samples were obtained from vegetarians (n = 37) and non-vegetarians (n = 39) not taking salicylate drugs. Non-vegetarians and vegetarians were recruited from the communi...

In order to investigate the effect of putrescin and salicylic acid on some physiological and antioxidant properties of stevia under salinity stress, a factorial experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with three replications. In this experiment, samples were exposed to different concentrations of putrescine (0, 0.5 and 1 mM), salicylic acid (0 and 0.5 mM) and salinity (0, 75 ...

Salicylic acid is a natural chemical used to enhance biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in plants. In our experiment we studied about the effect of salicylic acid on the growth of the capsicum under water stress condition. Four concentrations (0.25, 0.50, 1.00 and 2.00 mM) of salicylic acid (SA) were applied through seed soaked method. Pretreatment with salicylic acid improved the majority of ...

Salicylic acid has been used to treat various skin disorders for more than 2,000 years. The ability of salicylic acid to exfoliate the stratum corneum makes it a good agent for peeling. In particular, the comedolytic property of salicylic acid makes it a useful peeling agent for patients with acne. Once considered as a keratolytic agent, the role of salicylic acid as a desmolytic agent, because...
