In this study, a cellular surface membrane protein of immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily (IgSF) was identified from a human dendritic cell (DC) cDNA library by large-scale random sequencing, which is identical to previously reported Tim-3 (T-cell Ig- and mucin-domain-containing molecule 3). Recent data have suggested the association of the 281-residue mouse Tim-3 molecule with Th1-related T cell r...
T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing molecule3 (Tim-3) represents a novel mechanism of T-cell dysfunction and exhaustion. Tim-3 has also been identified in various solid tumors. However, the role of Tim-3 expression on blast cells in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is not well understood. In this study, we aimed to explore the role of Tim-3 in patients with de novo AML, and the correl...
Introduction: For marketing and selling their products, water-treatment equipment vendors use commercial iron and aluminum electrodes thereby changing the quality of water and increasing soluble and suspended solids in water. Due to the lack of scientific justification for the creation of sludge and discoloration caused by water electrolysis with commercial electrodes, this study aimed to compa...
T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain-3-containing molecule 3 (TIM-3) plays a pivotal role in immune regulation and has been found in various tumors. However, the prevalence and distribution of Tim-3 in osteosarcoma (OS) is still unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and distribution of Tim-3 in OS. Tim-3 on peripheral T cells from 82 OS patients and 60 healthy contr...
T cell immunoglobulin and mucin-4 (TIM-4), mainly expressed on dendritic cells (DC) and macrophages, plays an essential role in regulating immune responses. Langerhans cells (LC), which are the sole DC subpopulation residing at the epidermis, are potent mediators of immune surveillance and tolerance. However, the significance of TIM-4 on epidermal LCs, along with other cutaneous DCs, remains to...
T cell Ig domain and mucin domain protein 1 (TIM-1) is a costimulatory molecule that regulates immune responses by modulating CD4+ T cell effector differentiation. However, the function of TIM-1 on other immune cell populations is unknown. Here, we show that in vivo in mice, TIM-1 is predominantly expressed on B rather than T cells. Importantly, TIM-1 was expressed by a large majority of IL-10-...
Background and objective: The conventional chemical and physical methods for water disinfection include the application of ultraviolet (UV), chlorination, and ozonation. Water disinfection by electrochemical methods has been increasingly carried out recently. The goal of this applied - analytical research is to investigate the removal of E. coli bacteria, as the index of water microbial contami...
Pre-electrolysis at the boiling point in open Pd|D2O cells is an effective method to activate a palladium cathode, which can produce excess power in subsequent electrolysis in closed systems for several months. The reproducibility is 23/45. Another characteristic of excess heat is the apparent resistance of electrolytic cell changes irreversibly with temperature.
A facile unipolar pulse electrodeposition combined with the thermal oxidation method was applied for fabrication of CuO/Co3O4 composites on carbon electrode for water electrolysis, and it was found that the sea anemone-like one with a 3D hierarchical structure formed at -0.8 V exhibited excellent performance for water electrolysis at a low overpotential with high stability.
Surface studies of 40 μm thick Pd foils after electrolysis in D 2 O / H 2 SO 4 electrolyte for six minutes found inversions in isotopic ratios. Anomalous isotopic ratios were also found on the surface of a 350 μm thick Pd foil after electrolysis in the same electrolyte for 74 hours.
