Cutaneous drug reactions have a variety of clinical presentations. This review focuses on the most common or severe cutaneous reaction patterns. Knowledge of the clinical morphology and the most commonly associated medication aids in rapid diagnosis and institution of the appropriate therapy.
Drug hypersensitivity reactions and severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions, such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, are examples of serious adverse drug reactions mediated through a combination of metabolic and immunological mechanisms that could traditionally not have been predicted based on the pharmacological characteristics of the drug alone. The discovery of new a...
To investigate the epidemiology of acute cutaneous adverse drug reactions, a cross-sectional study was designed with four visits, equally distributed over one year, to all clinical departments of a large university hospital in order to find patients with possible drug-induced exanthema of less than 2 weeks' duration. Patients were examined clinically and offered investigation for possible drug ...

Fixed drug eruptions (FDE) are the common dermatological adverse drug reaction accounts for 16-21% of all cutaneous drug reactions in India. Drugs most frequently implicated in FDE are antimicrobials, anticonvulsants, and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs. Here, we report a rare case of bullous FDE due to ciprofloxacin followed by ofloxacin administration.
AML: acute myeloid leukemia INTRODUCTION Bullous drug eruptions are cutaneous dermal hypersensitivity reactions to systemically administered medications. Classically, these eruptions appear 5 to 14 days after the initiation of the offending agent. On histopathologic examination, dermal hypersensitivity reactions are characterized by a superficial perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate, often with ...
