We have measured the cross section σ(e+e−→π+π−γ) with the KLOE detector at DAΦNE, at an energy W = Mφ = 1.02 GeV. From the dependence of the cross section on m(ππ) = √ W 2 − 2WEγ , where Eγ is the energy of the photon radiated from the initial state, we extract σ(e+e−→π+π−) for the mass range 0.35 < m(ππ) < 0.95 GeV. From our result we extract the pion form factor and the hadronic contribution ...

Traditionally economic panels had large number of cross-section units and relatively few time periods and econometric methods were developed for such ‘large N small T ’data. More recently panels with observations for a large numbers of time periods have become available on cross-section units like …rms, industries, regions or countries. These notes explore the econometric methods developed for ...

We calculate the nuclear dependence of direct photon production in hadronnucleus collisions. In terms of a multiple scattering picture, we factorize the cross section for direct photon production into calculable short-distance partonic parts times multiparton correlation functions in nuclei. We present the hadron-nucleus cross section as Aα times the hadron-nucleon cross section. Using informat...

The rst measurement of the quasi-free p+n!p+n+ reaction cross section has been made at the CELSIUS storage ring using a deuterium internal cluster jet target. The energy dependence of the cross section is extracted using a xed incident proton energy of T p = 1350 MeV and exploiting the Fermi momentum of the struck neutron. The data cover a range of centre-of-mass excess energies from 16 MeV to ...

We present a complete next-to-leading order (NLO) calculation for the total cross section of inclusive Higgs pair production via bottom-quark fusion (bb̄ → hh) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the Standard Model. The NLO QCD corrections lead to less dependence on the renormalization scale (μR) and the factorization scale (μF ) than the leading-order (LO) cross section, and they signifi...

The electromagnetic radiative correction to the cross section of the vector meson electroproduction is calculated. Explicit covariant formulae for the observed cross section are obtained. The dependence of the radiative correction on the experimental resolution and on the inelasticity cut is discussed. FORTRAN code DIFFRAD based on both exact (ultrarelativistic) and approximate sets of the form...

We present the first measurements of the e[over -->]p-->epgamma cross section in the deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) regime and the valence quark region. The Q(2) dependence (from 1.5 to 2.3 GeV(2)) of the helicity-dependent cross section indicates the twist-2 dominance of DVCS, proving that generalized parton distributions (GPDs) are accessible to experiment at moderate Q(2). The heli...

The cross section for the production of the lightest neutral Higgs boson in association with a high-pT hadronic jet, calculated in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), is presented. The expectations for the hadronic cross section at the Large Hadron Collider are discussed using reasonable kinematical cuts. In particular the contributions from superpartner loops to ...

Cross-section values for Compton scattering on the proton were measured at 25 kinematic settings over the range s=5-11 and -t=2-7 GeV2 with a statistical accuracy of a few percent. The scaling power for the s dependence of the cross section at fixed center-of-mass angle was found to be 8.0+/-0.2, strongly inconsistent with the prediction of perturbative QCD. The observed cross-section values ar...
