namics software (CFD) was used to calculate natomical differences on flow resistance and inspiratory flow rates. Two types of models e segmented images. (1) Area-length curves of sopharynx through the epiglottis were used to tric flow models. These models were used to rea variation of flow resistance and pressure. e segmented 3D reconstruction were created, perpendicular to the airway centerlin...

Very cold neutrons (typical wavelengths are about 102 Ä) are available by recently developed techniques 2. The features of the scattering of these “ultracold” neutrons are investigated in the present paper discussing a few examples of magnetic scattering. The diffraction of neutrons by the vortex lattice in superconductors is treated as an example of elastic scattering, while in most other case...

Neutron capture and transmission measurements were performed by the time-of-flight technique at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute LINAC using metallic neodymium samples. The capture measurements were made at the 25-m-long flight station with a 16-segment NaI(Tl) multiplicity detector, and the transmission measurements were performed at 15 and 25 m flight stations with a 6Li glass scintillati...

We consider dilepton production in high energy proton-nucleus (and very forward nucleus-nucleus) collisions. Treating the target nucleus as a Color Glass Condensate and describing the projectile proton (nucleus) as a collection of quarks and gluons as in the parton model, we calculate the differential cross section for dilepton production in quark-nucleus scattering and show that it is very sen...

An overview is presented of the analysis code SAMMY, used for evaluation and analysis of time-of-flight cross section data in the resolved and unresolved resonance regions. Included are brief descriptions of the methods used for generating the theoretical cross sections (R-Matrix theory), for simulating the effect of experimental conditions (such as Dopplerand resolution-broadening, multiplesca...

The cross section of the process e+e− → π0π0γ has been measured in the c.m. energy range 600–970 MeV with the CMD-2 detector. The following branching ratios have been determined: B(ρ0 → π0π0γ) = (5.2 −1.3 ± 0.6) × 10−5 and B(ω → π0π0γ) = (6.4 −2.0 ± 0.8) × 10−5. Evidence for the ρ0 → f0(600)γ decay has been obtained: B(ρ0 → f0(600)γ) = (6.0 −2.7 ± 0.9) × 10−5. From a search for the process e+e−...

The Faddeev-Yakubovsky equations in configuration space have been solved for the four nucleon system with special interest in their scattering states. We present results concerning the structure of the first He, scattering states in different (T,S) channels including the first inelatic threshold N+3N→NN+NN and the n-t cross section using realistic potentials.

Searches for standard model Higgs boson production at the DØ experiment in p¯ p collisions at √ s = 1.96 TeV are carried out for Higgs boson masses (mH) in the range 100 ≤ mH ≤ 200 GeV. Most of these searches use the full Run II data set, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.7 fb −1 , and are combined to maximize the sensitivity to the standard model Higgs boson. In absence of a signi...

We present details of a search for electroweak production of single top quarks in the electron+jets and muon+jets decay channels. The measurements use ≈ 90 pb −1 of data from Run 1 of the Fermilab Tevatron collider, collected at 1.8 TeV with the DØ detector. We use events that include a tagging muon, implying the presence of a b jet, to set an upper limit at the 95% confidence level on the cros...
