in the present work, the znfe2o4 nanoparticle has been successfully synthesized. the obtained sample was characterized by x-ray diffraction (xrd), emission scanning electron microscopy (fe-sem) and its optical property was examined by uv-vis spectrophotometer. fe-sem revealed that the particle size of the znfe2o4 of about 47 nm was synthesized. the photocatalytic performance under uv-vis and vi...

a kinetic-spectrophotometric procedure is reported for determination of trace amounts of ag(i). this method is based on catalytic effect of silver ion on the oxidation of congo red by potassium peroxodisulphate at ph=3.4 and 30 oc in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline as an activator. the reaction was followed spectrophotometrically by measuring the rate of change in absorbance of congo red at...

Sixty-two patients affected by MGUS underwent fat tissue aspirate examination for diagnosis of AL amyloidosis. Nine out of the 62 were found to be Congo red positive. MGUS had already been diagnosed for quite a long time in about 60% of these patients, while this prevalence decreased to 24% among the Congo red negative patients. The follow-up of the positive patients is reported.

Congo red inhibits the accumulation of protease-resistant PrP in scrapie-infected mouse neuroblastoma cells. Here we show that Congo red also inhibits the replication of scrapie infectivity in these cells. This observation is consistent with the idea that protease-resistant PrP is a vital component of the scrapie agent or that agent replication depends on the presence of protease-resistant PrP ...

Twenty avian Escherichia coli isolates from normal and diseased chickens were compared by use of three virulence tests. These tests included the uptake of Congo red dye, an embryo lethality test, and a quantitative microtiter complement resistance test. A direct correlation was seen between the results of the complement resistance test and the embryo lethality test. The results of the Congo red...
