We define and study the ternary analogues of Clifford algebras. It is proved that the ternary Clifford algebra with N generators is isomorphic to the subalgebra of the elements of grade zero of the ternary Clifford algebra with N+1 generators. In the case N = 3 the ternary commutator of cubic matrices induced by the ternary commutator of the elements of grade zero is derived. We apply the terna...

In the traditional approaches to Clifford algebras, the Clifford product is evaluated by recursive application of the product of a one-vector (span of the generators) on homogeneous i.e. sums of decomposable (Graßmann), multi-vectors and later extended by bilinearity. The Hestenesian ’dot’ product, extending the one-vector scalar product, is even worse having exceptions for scalars and the need...

We study reversible quantum cellular automata with the restriction that these are also Clifford operations. This means that tensor products of Pauli operators (or discrete Weyl operators) are mapped to tensor products of Pauli operators. Therefore Clifford quantum cellular automata are induced by symplectic cellular automata in phase space. We characterize these symplectic cellular automata and...

The representation of geometric objects and their transformation are the two key aspects in computer graphics applications. Traditionally, computer-intensive matrix calculations are involved in modeling and rendering three-dimensional (3D) scenery. Geometric algebra (aka Clifford algebra) is attracting attention as a natural way to model geometric facts and as a powerful analytical tool for sym...

One particular approach to quantum groups (matrix pseudo groups) provides the Manin quantum plane. Assuming an appropriate set of non-commuting variables spanning linearly a representation space one is able to show that the endomorphisms on that space preserving the non-commutative structure constitute a quantum group. The noncommutativity of these variables provide an example of non-commutativ...

Neural computation in Clifford algebras, which include familiar complex numbers and quaternions as special cases, has recently become an active research field. As always, neurons are the atoms of computation. The paper provides a general notion for the Hessian matrix of Clifford neurons of an arbitrary algebra. This new result on the dynamics of Clifford neurons then allows the computation of o...

The rank of a commutative cancellative semigroup S is the cardinality of a maximal independent subset of S. Commutative cancellative semigroups of finite rank are subarchimedean and thus admit a Tamura-like representation. We characterize these semigroups in several ways and provide structure theorems in terms of a construction akin to the one devised by T. Tamura for N-semigroups.

We derive the actions for type II Green-Schwarz strings up to second order in the fermions, for general bosonic backgrounds. We base our work on the so-called normal coordinate expansion. The resulting actions are κ-symmetric and, for the case of surviving background supersymmetries, supersymmetric. We first obtain the type IIa superstring action from the 11D supermembrane by double dimensional...

let s be a locally compact topological foundation semigroup with identity and ma(s) be its semigroup algebra. in this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions to have abounded approximate identity in closed codimension one ideals of the semigroup algebra $m_a(s)$ of a locally compact topological foundationsemigroup with identity.

We describe the structure of 0-simple countably compact topological inverse semigroups and the structure of congruence-free countably compact topological inverse semigroups. We follow the terminology of [3, 4, 8]. In this paper all topological spaces are Hausdorff. If S is a semigroup then we denote the subset of idempotents of S by E(S). A topological space S that is algebraically a semigroup ...
