Copper-nanoparticle catalytic centres anchored at the graphitic step-edges within hollow carbon nanoreactors exhibit superior activity and stability in cycloaddition reactions as compared to catalytic centres outside the nanoreactors. Nanoscale confinement enables efficient recycling of the catalyst in preparative-scale synthesis without significant changes in activity.
A rapid and catalyst-free cycloaddition system for visible-light-induced click chemistry is reported. A readily accessible photoreactive 2H-azirine moiety was designed to absorb light at wavelengths above 400 nm. Irradiation with low-energy light sources thus enables efficient small-molecule synthesis with a diverse range of multiple-bond-containing compounds. Moreover, in order to demonstrate ...
Abstract This short review describes the assistance of click chemistry in chemical modification glycosaminoglycans. Through an alkyne-azide 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction, chemically and physiologically stable triazole unit connects glycosaminoglycans with other labelled or attached functionalities. The synthesized glycosaminoglycan (GAG) conjugates act as drug carriers, forming hydrogels n...
Click chemistry is an approach that uses efficient and reliable reactions, such as Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), to bind two molecular building blocks. CuAAC has broad applications in medicinal chemistry and other fields of chemistry. This review describes the general features and applications of CuAAC in solid-phase synthesis (CuAAC-SP), highlighting the suitability of th...
Bioorthogonal click chemistry was commissioned to visualize the plant cell wall lignification process in vivo. This approach uses chemical reporter-tagged monolignol mimics that can be metabolically incorporated into lignins and subsequently derivatized via copper-assisted or copper-free click reactions.
Please click here: a facile two-step functionalization strategy for silicon oxide-based substrates generates a stable platform for surface click chemistry via direct writing. The suitability of the obtained substrates is proven by patterning with two different direct-writing techniques and three different molecules.
Click chemistry provides extremely selective and orthogonal reactions that proceed with high efficiency and under a variety of mild conditions, the most common example being the copper(I)-catalysed reaction of azides with alkynes. While the versatility of click reactions has been broadly exploited, a major limitation is the intrinsic toxicity of the synthetic schemes and the inability to transl...
In the last few years click chemistry reactions, and in particular copper-catalyzed cycloadditions, have been used intensively for the preparation of new bioconjugate molecules and materials applicable to biomedical and pharmaceutical areas. This review will be focused on conjugates of the tripeptide Arg-Gly-Asp formed by means of click chemistry reactions. This sequence is a well known binding...
Partial chemical modification of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) was performed through tosylation followed by azidation. Amine functional PVA was also prepared by grafting propargylamine using click chemistry reaction. Through this approach, a tosyl group (a good leaving group), azide group (a group used in click chemistry) and amine group (a group used for amidation) were attached to PVA polymer cha...
