An ideal endodontic sealer should have many properties such as excellent seal after setting, dimensional stability, slow setting time to ensure sufficient working time, insolubility to tissue fluids, adequate adhesion with canal walls and biocompatibility. Genotoxicity is one of the important factors that influence biocompatibility of an endodontic sealer. This literature review was conducted t...

It is well known that in geotechnical engineering, soil stabilization using cement one of the appropriate approaches for enhancing characteristics. With respect to zeolite, its impact on characteristics cemented has not been fully evaluated. Thus, current research, a set laboratory tests including standard Proctor compaction and direct shear (DSTs) considering four contents (2, 4, 6, 8% sand dr...

Portland cement could be produced by heating the raw materials (clay, limestone) about 1500°C which clinker will be formed. Geochemical and mineralogical studies of clinker, Portland cement, cement kiln dust and cement mill dust have been carried out by optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and X-ray florescence. In phase system diagram (CaO-Al2O3-SiO2), chemical components of clinker cement oc...

Cement is one of the most produced materials in world. A major player greenhouse gas emissions, it main binding agent concrete, to which provides a cohesive strength that rapidly increases during setting. Understanding how such cohesion emerges has been obstacle advances cement science and technology. Here, we combine computational statistical mechanics theory demonstrate results from organizat...

The purpose of this study was to synthesize biomaterials from daily dental waste. Since alginate impression material contains silica and calcium salts, we aimed to synthesize calcium silicate cement from alginate impression material. Gypsum-based investment material was also investigated as control. X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that although firing the set gypsum-based and modified inves...

calcium aluminates (ca) are the most important hydraulically setting cements used for preparing refractory castables, because they develop high strength at very early ages after placements.  the anhydrous phases of this kind of cements are ca, ca2 and traces of c12a7 and alpha-alumina. the major hydraulic phase in all of the ca cements including ciment fondue is ca. once hydrated, it starts to ...

The purpose of this research was to study the marginal adaptation of eight calcium silicate-based materials when used to seal large furcal perforations, compared with one resin-modified glass-ionomer cement by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Сonclusion:All tested calcium silicate-based materials showed good marginal adaptation and are suitable for large furcal perforation repair.
