This paper presents a summary of a new laser-induced fluorescence instrument for airborne measurements of formaldehyde. As mentioned in the paper, accurate and precise measurements of formaldehyde are needed as they can provide an important constraint to test current models of atmospheric chemistry as well as provide retrieval validation for satellite measurements. The paper provides a detailed...

In the last fteen years the Quasi-Steady-State-Approximation (QSSA) method has been a commonly used method to integrate stii ordinary diierential equations arising from atmospheric chemistry problems. In this paper a theoretical analysis of the QSSA method is presented, stressing certain strengths and weaknesses. This theory leads to practical improvements to the QSSA method.

In the last fifteen years the quasi-steady-state-approximation (QSSA) method has been a commonly used method for integrating stiff ordinary differential equations arising from atmospheric chemistry problems. In this paper a theoretical analysis of the QSSA method is developed, stressing its strengths and its weaknesses. This theory leads to practical improvements to the QSSA method. New algorit...

C. A. Cantrell

The manuscript of Cantrell reviews methods for linear least-squares fitting of data and provides practical advice for researchers who wish to use such methods. The review by Cantrell does not present new scientific findings and is not a rigorous mathematical or statistical treatise. Rather, it provides operational information to guide users on which routines to use. References for the routines ...
