Known approaches for obfuscating a circuit are only feasible in theory: the complexity polynomially depends on the security parameter and circuit measures, but with too large polynomials and/or holds only with large enough security parameters, which leaves the methods not implementable for almost all applications at a required security level, say 128 bits. In this work, we initiate the task of ...

Fatty acid esters of 2- and 3-chloropropanediol (MCPDEs) and fatty acid esters of glycidol (GEs) are commonly monitored in edible fats and oils. A recommendation issued by the European Commission emphasizes the need of generating data on the occurrence of these substances in a broad range of different foods. So far, analytical methods for the determination of MCPDEs and GEs are fully validated ...

The present study investigated the degradation of levonorgestrel (LNG) and gestodene (GES) through an anodic oxidation process mediated by active chlorine species. independent variables [LNG]0 [GES]0, current density (mA cm?2), [NaCl]0 (mol L?1) were optimized a response surface methodology (RSM) based on four-level central composite design (CCD). Specific energy consumption allowed CCD-RSM ana...

We introduce Selective Greedy Equivalence Search (SGES), a restricted version of Greedy Equivalence Search (GES). SGES retains the asymptotic correctness of GES but, unlike GES, has polynomial performance guarantees. In particular, we show that when data are sampled independently from a distribution that is perfect with respect to a DAG G defined over the observable variables then, in the limit...

Background/Aims Recurrent nausea and/or vomiting are common complications of diabetes mellitus. The conditions severely impact the quality of life of patients and often cause repeated admissions to hospital incurring significant healthcare costs. If standard treatment fails, gastric electrical stimulation (GES) may be offered in selected cases, as a minimally invasive, but expensive, therapeuti...

Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was employed to monitor for gluten exorphins (GEs) in blood from samples collected from Celiac Disease subjects after the consumption of a physiological meal. GE-B4 and B5 were detected in three of the four subjects, the first time GEs have been detected in human blood.

The photoluminescence properties of Pr(3+)-doped GeS(x)-based glasses are studied and compared with those of other sulfide and fluoride glasses. The possibility of highly pump-power-efficient fiber amplifiers based on these GeS(x)-containing glasses in the telecommunications window at 1.3microm is discussed.

BACKGROUND Over 3 million patients annually present with symptoms suggestive of obstructive coronary artery disease (oCAD) in the United States (US), but a cardiac etiology is found in as few as 10% of cases. Usual care may include advanced cardiac testing with myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), with attendant radiation risks and increased costs of care. We estimated the cost effectiveness of ...

Many combinatorial optimization problems include a grouping (or assignment) phase wherein a set of items are partitioned into disjoint groups or sets. Introduced in 1994, the grouping genetic algorithm (GGA) is the most established heuristic for grouping problems which exploits the structural information along with the grouping nature of these problems to steer the search process. The aim of th...

We have analyzed archival Hubble Space Telescope/Advanced Camera for Surveys images in g and z of the globular cluster (GC) systems of 53 ellipticals in the Virgo Cluster, spanning massive galaxies to dwarf ellipticals (dEs). Several new results emerged: (i) In the giant ellipticals (gEs) M87 and NGC 4649, there is a correlation between luminosity and color for individual metal-poor GCs, such t...
