Superoxide radical (O2 ) is increased in the vessel wall of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) where its blockade potentiates endothelium-dependent vasodilation. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of O2 2 in the hypertension and renal vasoconstriction of SHR and its interaction with nitric oxide (NO). Baseline mean arterial pressure (MAP) and renal vascular resistance were m...

Let X, d be a complete metric space and T a self-map of X. Let xn 1 f T, xn be some iteration procedure. Suppose that F T , the fixed point set of T , is nonempty and that xn converges to a point q ∈ F T . Let {yn} ⊂ X and define n d yn 1, f T, yn . If lim n 0 implies that limyn q, then the iteration procedure xn 1 f T, xn is said to be T -stable. Without loss of generality, we may assume that ...

Let E be a real reflexive and strictly convex Banach space with a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm. Let J {T t : t ≥ 0} be a family of uniformly asymptotically regular generalized asymptotically nonexpansive semigroup of E, with functions u, v : 0,∞ → 0,∞ . Let F : F J ∩t≥0F T t / ∅ and f : K → K be a weakly contractive map. For some positive real numbers λ and δ satisfying δ λ > 1, let G ...

Recently, there has been an outburst of interest in extending topographic maps of vectorial data to more general data structures, such as sequences or trees. The representational capabilities and internal representations of the models are not well understood. We concentrate on a generalization of the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) for processing sequential data – the Recursive SOM (RecSOM [1]). We a...

The purpose of this paper is to present the definition of [Formula: see text]-contractive mapping and to discuss the relation of [Formula: see text]-contractive mappings and [Formula: see text]-contractive mappings. Furthermore, the generalized [Formula: see text]-contraction mapping principle has been proved without the uniqueness condition. Meanwhile, the generalized [Formula: see text]-contr...

So, suppose that i ◦ f : Z → X is continuous. Since for every α, the projection πα : X → Xα is continuous, πα ◦ (i ◦ f) : Z → Xα is continuous. The map πα ◦ (i ◦ f) = iα ◦ (ρα ◦ f). By the universal property of the subspace topology on Yα, the map iα ◦ (ρα ◦ f) being continuous implies ρα ◦ f : Z → Yα is continuous. So, we have a collection of continuous maps: ρα ◦ f : Z → Yα so by the universa...

Constacyclic codes are an important class of linear codes in coding theory. Many optimal linear codes are directly derived from constacyclic codes. In this paper, (1 + u)-constacyclic codes over Z 4 + uZ 4 of any length are studied. A new Gray map between Z 4 + uZ 4 and Z 4 (4) is defined. By means of this map, it is shown that the Z 4 Gray image of a (1 + u)-constacyclic code of length n over ...

Let C be an additive subgroup of Z n 2k for any k ≥ 1. We define a Gray map Φ : Z n 2k −→ Z kn 2 such that Φ(C) is a binary propelinear code and, hence, a Hamming-compatible group code. Moreover, Φ is the unique Gray map such that Φ(C) is Hamming-compatible group code. Using this Gray map we discuss about the nonexistence of 1-perfect binary mixed group code.

Let Z ⊂ P be a general surface of degree d ≥ 5. Using a Lefschetz pencil argument, we give a elementary new proof of the vanishing of a regulator on K1(Z). 1. Statement of result Let Z be a smooth quasiprojective variety over C, and for given nonnegative integers k,m, let CH(Z,m) be the higher Chow group as introduced in [Blo1]. In [Blo2], Bloch constructs a cycle class map into any suitable co...

In order to solve domain equations over 1-bounded compact metric spaces, xed points of functors on categories of 1-bounded compact metric spaces are studied. Two categories of 1-bounded compact metric spaces are considered: KMS and KMS E. In both categories, objects are isomorphic if and only if they are isometric. As a consequence, provided that the operation of a domain equation can be extend...
