malting is a complex biotechnological process that includes steeping; germination and drying of cereal grains under controlled conditions of temperature and humidity. in this research malting process parameters were predict by modular neural network with different activation function included, logsig-logsig, tanh-tanh, logsigtanh, logsig-identity and tanh-identity. steeping time (x1) and germin...

We use elementary facts about quadratic forms in characteristic 2 to evaluate the sign of some Walsh transforms in terms of a Jacobi symbol. These results are applied to the Walsh transforms of the Gold and KasamiWelch functions. We prove that the Gold functions yield bent functions when restricted to certain hyperplanes. We also use the sign information to determine the dual bent function.

The measure approach represents a preference relation over functions by the measure of Ž . their epigraphs or hypographs . This paper proves a measure representation theorem for a class of increasing functions and shows how its proof can be modified to yield another measure representation theorem for functions of bounded variation. q 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. Six classical growth functions (monomolecular, Schumacher, Gompertz, logistic, Richards, and Morgan) were fitted to individual and average (by parity) cumulative milk production curves of Canadian Holstein dairy cows. The data analyzed consisted of approximately 91,000 daily milk yield records corresponding to 122 first, 99 second, and 92 third parity individual lactation curves. The functions ...

We introduce the Laplace transform for an arbitrary time scale. Two particular choices of time scales, namely the reals and the integers, yield the concepts of the classical Laplace transform and of the classical Z-transform. Other choices of time scales yield new concepts of our Laplace transform, which can be applied to find solutions of higher order linear dynamic equations with constant coe...

Preparation of 2- and 6-thienylazulene derivatives was established by the palladium-catalyzed direct cross-coupling reaction of 2- and 6-haloazulenes with the corresponding thiophene derivatives in good yield. Several thienylazulene derivatives were also used in the reaction with 2-chloroazulene derivatives in the presence of the palladium-catalyst to afford the thiophene derivatives with two a...

A method for systematic reactor design, described by Hillestad [1], is applied to the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The reactor path is sectioned into stages and design functions are optimized to maximize an objective function. Two different objective functions are considered: the yield of wax and a measure of the profitability. With the chosen kinetic model [2] and the path temperature constraine...

We obtain size estimates for the distribution function of the bilinear Hilbert transform acting on a pair of characteristic functions of sets of finite measure, that yield exponential decay at infinity and blowup near zero to the power −2/3 (modulo some logarithmic factors). These results yield all known L bounds for the bilinear Hilbert transform and provide new restricted weak type endpoint e...

The real-analytic Jacobi forms of Zwegers’ PhD thesis play an important role in the study of mock theta functions and related topics, but have not been part of a rigorous theory yet. In this paper, we introduce harmonic Maass–Jacobi forms, which include the classical Jacobi forms as well as Zwegers’ functions as examples. Maass–Jacobi–Poincaré series also provide prime examples. We compute thei...
