A simple, sensitive, rapid and accurate spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of risedronate, a bisphosphonate drug important for the treatment of a variety of bone diseases, in raw material and pharmaceutical formulations. The proposed method is based on complex formation between risedronate and Cu (II) ions in acetate buffer of pH5.5. The optimum conditions for this re...

A binary mixture of imipramine HCl and chlordiazepoxide was determined by three different spectrophotometric methods. The first method involved determination of imipramine HCl and chlordiazepoxide using the simultaneous equations and the second method involved absorbance ratio method. Imipramine has absorbance maxima at 251 nm, chlordiazepoxide has absorbance maxima at 264.5 nm and isoabsorptiv...

Two simple, rapid, accurate, precise, reliable and economical spectrophotometric methods have been proposed for determination of two widely used new steroids in bulk as well as in pressurised metered dose preparations. The steroids are Ciclesonide and Fluticasone propionate. Both steroids are widely used in the treatment of various types of respiratory disorders. The developed methods for deter...

In this study, a high-performance liquid chromatographic method (HPLC) and UV spectrophotometric method were developed, validated and applied for the determination of theophylline in biological fluids. Liquid- liquid extraction is performed for isolation of the drug and elimination of plasma and saliva interferences. Urine samples were applied without any extraction. The chromatographic separat...

Determination of Iron in Natural samples was carried out using the Spectrophotometric methods. For each Natural Samples (determined in duplicate) ash solution was prepared and its aliquot for analysis by Spectrophotometric methods has been done. Mean value for duplicate analysis of each sample determined by the method was tabulated according to Natural sample. The describe method is very simple...

This study is focused on the evaluation of zinc oxide properties and behavior at commercially available cosmetic ingredients by in vitro methods of dermal absorption of zinc oxide and its subsequent chemical determinations. Two methods for determination of ZnO were used and the results were compared. The spectrophotometric method (SPM) was selected for its sensitivity and atomic absorption spec...

A rapid, relatively sensitive, and low-cost method for the determination of water-soluble urea content in dermatological therapy products and cosmetics is proposed using a new spectrophotometric assay with water as the only extraction solvent. Spectrophotometric methods involve addition of a known excess of bromate to urea in an acid medium, followed by the determination of residual bromine and...

A simple, selective and sensitive derivative spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of palladium(II) using a newly synthesised reagent diacetylmonoxime-(p-anisyl)-thiosemicarbazone in acetic acid medium. The molar absorptivity and Sandell’s sensitivity of the coloured species are 3.8 × 10 L mol cm and 2.8 ng cm, respectively. Beer’s law is obeyed between 0.2-2.0 μg m...

A simple, selective and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of tin(II) using a newly synthesised reagent diacetylmonoxime p-hydroxybenzoylhydrazone in cationic micellar medium. The molar absorptivity and Sandell’s sensitivity of the coloured species are 3.20×10 L mol cm and 3.6 ng cm respectively. Beer’s law is obeyed between 0.25-2.76 μg mL of Sn(II)) a...

A flow-injection spectrophotometric method for the determination of adrenaline and isoprenaline, based on the reaction with metaperiodate, is described. The calibration graphs are linear up to 2X 10e4 M. Flow injection allows the measurement of 120 samples per hour. The method was successfully applied to the determination of both catecholamines in pharmaceuticals.
