In this paper we prove Leray-Schauder and Furi-Pera types fixed point theorems for a class of multi-valued mappings with weakly sequentially closed graph. Our results improve and extend previous results for weakly sequentially closed maps and are very important in applications, mainly for the investigating of boundary value problems on noncompact intervals.

It is shown that on certain Banach spaces, including C[0,1] and L1[0,1], there is no strongly continuous semigroup (Tt )0<t<1 consisting of weakly compact operators such that (Tt )0<t<1 is an R-bounded family. We prove a local limit theorem for Lipschitz continuous observables on a weakly coupled lattice of piecewise expanding interval maps. The core of the paper is a proof that the spectral radii of the Fourier-transfer operators for such a system are strictly less than 1.
