The Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp) is a fundamental building block in Mixed Signal design. Two stage Op-Amp is one of the most commonly used Op-Amp architectures. In this paper an operational amplifier by CMOS is presented whose input depends on bias current which is 30uA and designed using 1 um technology. In sub-threshold region due to unique behaviour of the MOS transistors not only allows a...

Operational amplifier (op amp) oscillators can be used to accurately measure resistive and capacitive sensors. Oscillator design can be simplified by using the procedure discussed in this application note. The derivation of the design equations provides a method to select the passive components and determine the influence of each component on the frequency of oscillation. The procedure will be ...

A complementary bipolar low-power, high-speed, current-feedback operational amplifier is described. The amplifier incorporates a new Class AB output stage that enables high output current drive of 100 mA and large voltage swing within 1 V of the supply rails while operating at low quiescent current of 1.5 mA. The amplifier was fabricated in a junction-isolated complementary bipolar process with...

A new MOS-C bandpass-low-pass filter using the current feedback operational amplifier (CFOA) is presented. The filter employs two CFOA’s, eight MOS transistors operating in the nonsaturation region, and two grounded capacitors. The proposed MOS-C filter has the advantage of independent control of Q and !o. PSpice simulation results for the proposed filter are given.

An EEG acquisition system using 0.18μm technology is proposed. EEG input signals are of the range of few micro-voltage. Hence a high gain operational transconductance amplifier with gain of 62.45dB is designed for the acquisition system. The proposed amplifier and multiplexer have been tested for the EEG signals and their performance is reported at operating voltage of 1.8 volts. This design ca...

The conventional sine wave oscillator circuits use phase shifting techniques that RC phase shift oscillator using op-amp in inverting amplifier introduces. Figure show a RC phase shift oscillator using Op-Amp with gain 5(Vo/Vi). My assumption : Circuit is generating a sine wave with a peak to peak voltage of 10v. Voltage stability, specifically the lack of, when using a resister divider is the ...

The paper deals with current conveyor based design criteria for low power Miller operational transconductance amplifier. Its transconductance has been controlled by using second generation current conveyor (CCII), replacing input bias current (Ibias). Current-mode based electronics devices becoming more popular than with voltage mode. The performance is obtained through PSPICE simulations which...

In this paper, a Single resistance controlled Sinusoidal Oscillators is presented using a single current feedback operational amplifier (CFOA). The main feature of this circuit configuration is that frequency of oscillation (FO) and condition of oscillation (CO) can be controlled by single resistance. It uses single CFOA and minimum passive components that are three voltage controlled resistors...

This paper presents a single-resistance-controlled sinusoidal equi-amplitude quadrature oscillator based on Current Feedback Operational Amplifier (CFOA) which has potential applications in modulation and detection. Most of the Quadrature Oscillators (QO) available in open literature are suffering with same problem. The ratio of two outputs of those QO is frequency dependent and not equal to un...

This paper presents and experimentally verifies an optimized design procedure for a CMOS low noise operational amplifier. The design procedure focuses on the noise performance, which is the key requirement for low noise operational amplifiers. Based on the noise level and other specifications such as bandwidth, signal swing, slew rate, and power consumption, the device sizes and the biasing con...
