a r t i c l e i n f o Most CGE models are real and cannot be easily used to study monetary policies. This paper develops a financial CGE model with interaction between real and financial side of the Chinese economy and applies the model to study oil price shocks and monetary policy responses. Unlike macro models in the current literature, the financial CGE model can be implemented to look into ...

in this research, potential effects of oil and monetary policy shocks on economic growth of iran are examined and share of each of them on economic growth are calculated during 1974-2006 period and potential mutual effects of those shocks by using the vector auto regressive (var) model are analysed. results of this research show that oil shocks significantly affected the economic growth in iran...

An approach to rapid protein crystallization using very small samples is described. A computer controlled microdispenser is used to make crystallization samples as microbatch droplets under oil. Samples of 1—2 ~l are dispensed ready-mixed and with good precision. The samples are protected from evaporation, contamination and physical shock by the oil. When favourable conditions for crystallizati...

A study of techniques for inducing acute pancreatitis in rats has shown that oil pancreatitis is the most consistent. All methods result in increased fibrinogen catabolism, which is in part due to disseminated intravascular coagulation and in part due to the inflammatory reaction in the pancreas. There is also increased albumin catabolism. Increased fibrin embolization to the lungs results in a...

The markup (the ratio of price to marginal cost) in Canada has risen steadily since the early 1990s suggesting a widening gap between the actual and the efficient level of output and a declining share of labour income in GDP. It exhibits non-stationary movements over the sample period 1982Q1 to 2009Q4, allowing us to identify a permanent markup shock. We provide evidence that oil price movement...

This study investigated the asymmetric effects of oil shocks–oil price, demand and supply shocks–on military expenditure in Nigeria. Our confirmed presence short-run long-run asymmetries all three models used. Generally, positive price shocks positively influence vice versa for negative shocks. However, a shock is detrimental to expenditure.

BACKGROUND Genetic engineering remains a major challenge in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) because particle bombardment and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation are laborious and/or inefficient in this species, often producing chimeric plants and escapes. Protoplasts are beneficial as a starting material for genetic engineering because they are totipotent, and chimeras are avoided by regeneratin...
