Introduction: Knowledge of the presence of the alveolar antral artery in the lateral maxillary sinus wall is essential for surgeons who operate in this region. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between alveolar antral artery diameter and lateral maxillary bony wall thickness in dentate patients.   Materials and Methods: Thirty five Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)...

A fully bonded m~dtiloop wire appliance for the correction of ectopically erupting permanent molars is described. The appliance allows control in the anteroposterior, vertical, and transverse planes. Ectopically erupting first permanent molars are seen in about 3% of the population.~,2 Sixty-six per cent of ectopically erupting maxillary first permanent molars self-correct by jumping over the i...

conclusions it was observed that the success and survival rate of maxillary molar immediate implant was relatively high and similar to those of conventional delayed implants. results immediate implants were most frequently used for incisor and premolar sites and there is very little data available on immediate implantation in the molar area. in this research, we reviewed all the existing papers...

The purpose of the study was to examine the dentoalveolar and skeletal effects of the pendulum appliance in Class II patients at varying stages of dental development and with varying facial patterns (high, neutral, and low mandibular plane angles). Specifically, the amount and nature of the "distalization" of the maxillary first molars and the reciprocal effects on the anchoring maxillary first...

This article describes the orthodontic treatment of a 26-year-old female patient with overerupted left maxillary molar teeth. Her chief complaint was that the maxillary left first and the second molar intruded into the space required for the mandibular left first and the second molars, preventing prosthodontic treatment. The authors performed a corticotomy and used orthodontic skeletal anchorag...

An accurate value for the radiative lifetime of the 2s 2p~(~P) 3s ~P~ level in N II has been obtained using the beam-foil-laser spectroscopy method. The result (T = 0.456 ± 0.020 ns ) is shorter than the beam-foil lifetime values reported previously for the 3s' ~P term. No theoretical value for the lifetime of this term is available at the present time.

We have measured hard x-ray photoemission spectra of pure vanadium sesquioxide (V(2)O(3)) across its metal-insulator transition. We show that, in the metallic phase, a clear correlation exists between the shakedown satellites observed in the vanadium 2p and 3p core-level spectra and the coherent peak measured at the Fermi level. Comparing experimental results and dynamical mean-field theory cal...

We report the first observation of stimulated emission of terahertz radiation from internal transitions of excitons. The far-infrared electromagnetic response of Cu2O is monitored via broadband terahertz pulses after ultrafast resonant excitation of three-dimensional 3p excitons. Stimulated emission from the 3p to the energetically lower 2s bound level occurs at a photon energy of 6.6 meV, with...
