The spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T1 and the spin echo decay rate 1/T2G for the spin2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain are calculated using quantum Monte Carlo and maximum entropy analytic continuation. The results are compared with recent analytical calculations by Sachdev. If the nuclear hyperfine form factor Aq is strongly peaked around q = π the predicted lowtemperature behavior [1/T1 ∼ ...

Changes in the longitudinal relaxation rate (R1) may play a role in the MRI signal intensity increases that have been associated with physiological brain activation. We used gradient-echo echo-planar MRI (GRE-EPI) to test whether physiological activations associated with hypercapnia in dogs were dependent on the delay (TR) between successive images in a time-series. Our results show that, in ad...

We present a 14N nuclear magnetic resonance study of a single crystal of CuBr4(C5H12N)2 (BPCB) consisting of weakly coupled spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnetic ladders. Treating ladders in the gapless phase as Luttinger liquids, we are able to fully account for (i) the magnetic field dependence of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate T1(-1) at 250 mK and for (ii) the phase transition to a...

In response to recent nuclear-magnetic-resonance (NMR) measurements on the molecular cluster Mn12O12 acetate, we study the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T(1), developing a modified spin-wave theory. Our microscopic new approach, which is distinct from previous macroscopic treatments of the cluster as a rigid spin of S=10, not only excellently interprets the observed temperature and app...

Resistively detected nuclear spin relaxation measurements in closely separated two-dimensional electron systems reveal strong low-frequency electron-spin fluctuations in the quantum Hall regime. As the temperature is decreased, the spin fluctuations, manifested by a sharp enhancement of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T1, continue to grow down to the lowest temperature of 66 millikel...

We report 133 Cs nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on the 2D frustrated Heisenberg antiferromagnet Cs 2 CuCl 4 down to 2 K and up to 15 T. We show that 133 Cs NMR is a good probe of the magnetic degrees of freedom in this material. Cu spin degrees of freedom are sensed through a strong anisotropic hyperfine coupling. The spin excitation gap opens above the critical saturation field....

We have measured the bimolecular contribution (relaxivity) R1 (M(-1) s(-1)) to the spin-lattice relaxation rate for the protons of H2 and H2@C60 dissolved in organic solvents in the presence of paramagnet nitroxide radicals. It is found that the relaxation effect of the paramagnets is enhanced 5-fold in H2@C60 compared to H2 under the same conditions. 13C relaxivity in C60 induced by nitroxide ...

In this study, we report the spin-lattice relaxation rate of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and normal liver tissue in rats using a high-T(c) superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) based nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer. The resonance spectrometer used for discriminating liver tumors in rats via the difference in longitudinal relaxation time in low magnetic fields was ...

We present a high-pressure NMR study of the overdoped iron pnictide superconductor NaFe0.94Co0.06As. The low-energy antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in the normal state, manifest as the Curie-Weiss upturn in the spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/(75)T1T, first increase strongly with pressure but fall again at P>Popt=2.2  GPa. Neither long-ranged magnetic order nor a structural phase transition ...

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
