We have expressed recombinant RNase P protein from Escherichia coli in high yield. A hexahistidine sequence at the amino terminus allowed protein purification in a single step. Mass spectrometry confirmed the molecular weight of the purified protein and indicated a purity of > 95%. Protein functionality was demonstrated by reconstitution of active holoenzyme.

Site-specific fluorescent labeling of proteins in vivo remains one of the most powerful techniques for imaging complex processes in live cells. Although fluorescent proteins in many colors are useful tools for tracking expression and localization of fusion proteins in cells, these relatively large tags (>220 aa) can perturb protein folding, trafficking and function. Much smaller genetically enc...

BACKGROUND Making peptide pharmaceuticals involves challenging processes where many barriers, which include production and manufacture, need to be overcome. A non common but interesting research area is related to peptides with intracellular targets, which opens up new possibilities, allowing the modulation of processes occurring within the cell or interference with signaling pathways. However,...

Recombinant clathrin protein fragments form assemblies that template gold nanocrystals in an array across the latticed surface. The nanocrystals exhibit unusual anisotropic morphologies with long range ordering, both of which are dependent upon the presence of a hexahistidine tag on the clathrin heavy chain fragments.

a doctrine which has played a significant role in the beliefs of the jews, the christians and the moslems is the issue of the garden of eden and the renowned tree in it (one tree in islam, and two trees in the judaism and christianity, i.e. the tree of life and the tree of knowledge). this essay deals with a comparative study of the forbidden tree in judaism and islam, and for this sake we have...

In the works of mystics, sheikh, and teachers of morality and education, despotic soul is always blamed and reproved as an interior enemy and a great obstacle in the way of servitude and mystical journey. Wayfarers and disciples are visely warned against this deceitful enemy. In his six books of Mathnawi, Mowlawi mentions the deceit and hypocrisy of the despotic soul by using Quranic verses, Pr...

That is the way Miriam Butt begins her book. Apparently, she felt that the quote fits her introduction to case theory within grammatical traditions (Latin grammar is one) and their relationship to various notions of case within modern theoretical linguistics. In her introduction to the book, Butt states “...several issues must be dealt with. One is the issue of what “case” really means and what...

Label-free detection of the interaction between hexahistidine-tagged human κ-opioid receptor membrane protein and anti-His antibody is demonstrated in liquid by an optical microelectromechanical system utilizing electromagnetically actuated microresonators. Shift in resonance frequency due to accretion of mass on the sensitive surface of microresonators is monitored via an integrated optical re...
